yep, I posted complaining about it when I first noticed it, but it seemed to get ignored.

I used to have an iPhone, and with that one there was a stupid pop up that made made it so you couldn't read any of the articles on classic motorsports.

Bravenrace and others, I'm sorry you feel like your requests have been ignored. We got several complaints about this when the new site went up, and we did address it at that time. Many people reported that the problem was fixed. The way it's designed, when you close the pop-up it won't reappear for a long time--either two weeks or a month, I can't remember which exactly.

Any of you who are still having this issue: Please check your browser settings to ensure that cookies are allowed. Then send an email to alan@grassrootsmotorsports.com and tell me what device you're using and, if applicable, what browser. The more info you can get me--device version, device OS version--the better we'll be able to track down your specific issue and fix it.

Thank you.

I have the exact same problem on my N900.

In reply to Alan Cesar:

Alan, I can't close it because it disappears too fast. When I go to close it, I end up opening a link that is inevitably behind it, only to have it re-appear as soon as I scroll again. I've already stated several times that this happens on my iPad using the newest version of Safari. My settings are already set to allow cookies and to stop pop ups.

Stopping pop-ups won't make a difference with this, since it doesn't open in an actual separate browser window. It's simply an element integrated to the page. I'm reopening the bug report about this subscription promotion and we'll put it in the queue to get fixed.

Thank you for your patience.

For some reason, it only seems to be targeting you. Anyone else having this problem?

The real question is - bravenrace, are you a subscriber? I mean, take the hint already!

I am as well. iPhone 5, browsing the forum with the phone rotated to the wider setting. The subscribe now ad pops up, but is offset almost below the page so you can't reach the x to close it out. It also scrolls with the page, to keep the X out of reach. So anytime you try to scroll down to read, it blocks momentarily, then drops down another half page so you can't get to it.

It is still there on portrait view (with the phone upright) but the offset is enough it doesn't block the page.

I'll try to get a video of it later this weekend, if that would help.

Exact same thing happening w/ my Droid X2 in landscape view.

So I just keep screen in portrait view, no problem w/ that.
