Most of us have an angle grinder aka "Death Wheel" on our tool collection. Our friends at Hazard Fraught have upped the the stakes yet again. Feeling lucky?
On some level it makes sense as the wood carving tool its meant to be, but I don't want to think about it coming apart at speed.

Hand-held stump grinder? 10 out of 10 product liability lawyers would recommend.

Name works on multiple levels!
Those aren't uncommon. Lot's of people use them for log carving.
these are right up there.
After what the diamond metal cutoff wheel did to my thumb, you’re getting a whole lotta nope from me on the chainsaw death wheel
Add this to my mental checklist:
No log carving with angle grinder.

The machine doesn't have a brain.
You need to use yours.

My brain says it's not a machine for using, it's a machine for lying down and avoiding.

I've used em for carving wood. If this seems unsafe, try using the traditional alternatives: chainsaw, or hatchet.
Really not any worse than any other spinning blade. The amount of casual bandsaw use I see is more troubling personally, with noob lathe operators a very close second.

This. Compared to a chainsaw--much less exposed length of chain. Lower tool weight. Better control.

Counterpoint: 12000 rpm chain on a disc made by harbor freight
I google reverse image searched the original pic (Y U NO POST LINK OP?), and the number of 'visually similar images' is extensive. Apparently lots of people must use these things.
I didn't watch this whole thing, but I believe there is no dismemberment.

This was the coolest thing ever when my dad brought one home when I was 4 or 5. It's still in the garage, still have never actually used it. Looks barely safer than the scythe I found in the shed.
As for the chainsaw disc, I've been looking at them for years direct from China waiting for an excuse to buy one.
I searched for "angle grinder chain saw blade" and found it.
It's a "carving disc". I never knew something like this existed.

I cannot deny it. Your point is a very, very good one. But apart from speed and possibly dubious construction quality, the tool seems to me to be no more dangerous than your average garden variety chainsaw.

If it said "Stihl" would you still be scared? Or anymore so than a normal chainsaw?
Didn't post a link due to not being sure if HF is a sponsor or advertiser here. Don't want my attempt at humor to cause trouble.
What is the chain rpm of the average chainsaw in comparison? I have no idea.
From another site, they list the chainsaw speed as a spec of 9,600 rpm under load and a max rpm of 13,500 w/bar and chain no load. So maybe that wheel isn't the super death wheel, but close to it.
