So I usually take my birthday off or the whole week off, but I ran out of vacation time, so I pretty much had to work today.
We had our normal group meeting today and while in the middle of it, our manager (supervisor's boss) comes in with a bunch of other people and takes over the meeting.
He's going on and on about this award that's given to the techs who receive a high amount of customer appreciation scores from an automated caller that calls the customer after we leave their house.
I'm half listening to his speech and then he calls my name.

The best part of the award is that there is a large cash prize.
I nearly fell out of my seat and for once in my life I was speechless.
What a great birthday gift!

Cool! As long as that doesn't mean you're force to top yourself next quarter or ELSE!
Congrats and Happy Birthday!
I wish they gave us a cash prize for customer sat scores.

I thought this was going to be about BJs.
I wish they gave us BJs for high customer satisfaction scores.

Cash prize? So a C4 or E36M3? No, no wait. A late '70 Nova with a LSx and T56 for track days... no no. A Falcon Ranchero with a turbo 4 cylinder ...

I was just thinking about the whole "surprise birthday gift" thing, before I read the actual OP.
And considering the sausage factory I work in, I'm just as glad I don't get them as bonuses.
