No one has mentioned Toyota's latest.

Well you just mentioned it but the only thing you mentioned about it was that nobody else had mentioned it either. So really, there's a cirle of non-pointularity going here. Also, latest what?

Recall was implied, since Toyota seems to be having quite a few lately.

A recall to put grease on a switch.

The sky is falling.

Not only that, but it appears the root problem is grease used AFTER THE VEHICLE IS SOLD. Meaning that Toyota's not really at fault here. They are being proactive after the lambasting they got over the other recalls.

If people are gonna bitch about recalls, how about Mazda's recall over spiders in the evaporative emission system?

http://money.cnn.com/2011/03/03/autos/mazda6_spider_recall/index.htm

That same thing happened with Miatas way back when, there was a screen doohickey released which popped into the vent to keep them out. Wasn't a recall, rather a TSB.

Not surprised at people being weird about it.

I worked in passenger transit (subway trains) for a bit. We had a weird part I was trying to figure out on a pneumatic control unit. It looked like a hex plug, and threaded into a vent hole. It has a screen across the whole surface, and was drilled pretty large. I asked what it was.

"Son, that's a wasp excluder"

Nice.
