Recall was implied, since Toyota seems to be having quite a few lately.

Not only that, but it appears the root problem is grease used AFTER THE VEHICLE IS SOLD. Meaning that Toyota's not really at fault here. They are being proactive after the lambasting they got over the other recalls.

If people are gonna bitch about recalls, how about Mazda's recall over spiders in the evaporative emission system?

That same thing happened with Miatas way back when, there was a screen doohickey released which popped into the vent to keep them out. Wasn't a recall, rather a TSB.

I worked in passenger transit (subway trains) for a bit. We had a weird part I was trying to figure out on a pneumatic control unit. It looked like a hex plug, and threaded into a vent hole. It has a screen across the whole surface, and was drilled pretty large. I asked what it was.
"Son, that's a wasp excluder"
