So I spend about half my day ~5 hours in and out of my car, in the sun, in Phoenix. It is taking quite the toll on my rear. Seat in question is a leather seat with vinyl cover. My back is fine, bottom is sweaty and brings all the non glory with it.
So I am open for any solutions, I already rock the wicking undergarments, do beaded seat covers work? I am so far past caring how it looks, I just need it to work. Any Ideas?
I didn't understand cooled seats until I got a car with heated seats. I figure if the cooling works as well as the heating, then it is worth every penny. Now, I wonder if there's a GRM way to do it. Maybe run coolant lines under the seat cover like a cool shirt. A small pump and a radiator with the rear floor vent blowing cold air over it would probably be more than enough.
In reply to Derick Freese:
You may be onto something. I could stitch a cool suit set up into my seat cover. I have an old small cooler and and the Mrs. is a nurse and could find me some tubing. I wonder how long the ice would last in the trunk. As it is right now I cannot touch tools out of my tool box that is in the truck during the day as they are too hot from radiated heat. My amp shuts down constantly as well.
I boss had an Escalade that had AC vented seats. It was always nice to arrive at meetings with out sweaty back syndrome.

I have coil seat mats in the wrangler and they work awesomely and I think they were only $5.
Yes, beaded seats are wonderful. I had a 97 Box truck with no A/C in Texas. That beaded seat saved my ass (literally) many times.
But, if you have long hair like I do, cut it first. Seriously. The beads constantly grab hairs and rip them out of your scalp with every single bump.
You want air movement more than a cool surface. You have leather/vinyl seats right? Have a aphostry shop sew in perforated seat covers and buy aftermarket seat ventilators. I have a set of seat heaters/ventilators if your interested, but you need perforated seats.
leather/vinyls seats don't work well in hot weather,or cold. and don't wear shorts.
