It is amazing to me how much his face/neck expands and contracts.
I believe he actually ended up with nerve damage from that. Horn players are not supposed to let their cheeks inflate, certainly not that much.

Dizzy was one of the coolest motherberkeleyers to walk the Earth. A legend through and through. That is a great clip that I'd long forgotten about. Just fantastic.
BTW--the state of his cheeks was actually named as a medical condition--"Gillespie Pouches". No joke. His improper technique made it to the medical journals.
