Agreed, completely. I'm just pointing out that the European model that is so heavily idealized in certain circles conveniently, uhhh, whitewashes over a few important differences (to coin a phrase).
In no way do I think that the inherent potential of any particular nationality or ethnicity is inferior or superior.
But any system that needs to serve a wide diversity of nationalities / ethnicities / cultures is going to have a more difficult task than one that doesn't, particularly in education.
