Miles and I talked about marriage. I'd shown him rings. I'd wondered if he'd propose on our vacation to the mountains. You know what? I still was shocked when I turned around and he was down on a knee. He told me he wanted to take a photo on an overlook we'd hiked to the year prior. I get situated, look up, burst into tears and stammer out a yes.
He hadn't actually asked the question yet, whoops.
Long story short, even if she knows it's happening and you know what she'll say, it's a thrilling moment for both parties. She'll be surprised, you'll both be thrilled.

This is a good lesson to ask for something else before popping the question.
*gets on one knee*
Can you buy me a Cayman GT4 RS?

So she did know I'd bought a ring - we'd been shopping together etc.
BUT, I lied to her (shame on me) and told her I left the ring in the gun safe...and she bought it.
We took a trip to DC for my birthday this past July and I knew that THAT was the city I'd do it in. But where? Well, my favorite President is Teddy Roosevelt, and there's an island dedicated to him which I'd never been to. She likes hiking/nature, so why not take a drive over to it, walk around and DO THE DEED...No, not THAT deed... Proposing.
So we did, Saturday afternoon. She suspected nothing and we found the statue and then started walking. She commented on some beech trees up ahead, how pretty it was how the sun was coming through them, I told her we should get a picture there...that's when I did it. Much like you/your engagement, I was setting her up for a picture when I just got down on one knee.
I dont know what I said, and I dont know what she said...but she's wearing it now and she's my Fiance. Im freaking stoked.
And why not a pic while in the turbo ha
She loves it. She loves me. Im happy.

That's awesome, congratulations! PS, I think she likes the ring!
This is the ending we were all hoping for.

Congratulations!
Congrats man! That's exciting stuff! My wife and I still aren't sure if she actually said "yes" or just squealed when I asked three years ago.
Congratulations. I am happy for you and the future Mrs.. I am glad it went well.
Make sure you have some sort of insurance on the ring.
My Wife lost the rock from her ring and that was a terrible time... (loose setting)
And it has not been replaced.
Man, that's good stuff! Real joy there! I've said it before, I'm really happy for the both of you!
