You've heard "He who dies with the most toys wins", we have a winner.

Yup, I spoke to the executor of the estate a few months ago. Supposedly his partner was going to keep the place going, but I guess she is cashing in instead. Sad to see it go, but hopefully it will go to folks who will appreciate what he had.

Sad really. Spend all your live hoarding stuff just to leave it to someone else to do who knows what with it. Ol' King Solomon said it very well: "As he came from his mother’s womb, naked shall he return, To go as he came; And he shall take nothing from his labor Which he may carry away in his hand. And this also is a severe evil. Just exactly as he came, so shall he go. And what profit has he who has labored for the wind?

I believe it was someone else who said "he who dies with the most toys, wins."

In reply to pinchvalve:

Yeah, wouldn't have been Solomon. He learned the hard way. The guy did have some neat stuff though. So what does he "win" anyway.

I met a traveller from an antique land Who said: `Two vast and trunkless legs of stone Stand in the desert... Near them, on the sand, Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown, And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command, Tell that its sculptor well those passions read Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things, The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed. And on the pedestal these words appear -- "My name is Ozymandias, king of kings: Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!" Nothing beside remains. Round the decay Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare The lone and level sands stretch far away.

Here is a link to another forum I found while looking for information on the twin-grille Lincoln. The guy who shot the video is one of the posters. Some of the comments about the partner/fiancee indicate they aren't very impressed with her. The auction will be 11/3-11/5 in Glenview, IL.

What are the two cars we see at the start of the video?

I think mothers everywhere would live in terror of the return trip.

I wonder if Mike and Frank have seen these videos? I do love looking at old stuff and taking a trip back in time. Alot of stories are in that barn.

Certainly looks like the museum of a madman.

That said, there was a lot of neat stuff in there. The Can Am nose at the 1 minute mark of the third clip is pretty sweet.

That reminds me of one of my favorite lines from the Drew Carey Show.

"Look, all I know is you're born naked, and you die naked."

"You don't die naked!"

"If you plan it right, you do."
