Bravo to the police. I'd have done the same thing.

Besides, the moron will receive shock treatment once he gets back to the home anyway.

Sorry, but when you choose to argue with the cops, you face the consequences.

Resisting the taser discussion... must resist...

Oh, heck! I'm kinda suprised it took a whole 3 minutes for that guy to get zapped. I'm just sayin...

wonder why they would not just tell him what he was being arrested for? Might have made things a LITTLE smoother (not much, but a little)

I'd have tazered him for that.

Take away the tazer, replace it with rubber bullits and things like that would either:
a) stop
b) be waaay more fun to watch

I am seeing a theme with anti authority comments from you bro, sometimes the cops have to arrest bad guys, just because it isn't on the video doesn't mean he didn't deserve to be under arrest and that he wasn't advised why.

A taser is a safe way to control a potentially violent situation, would you prefer they used a firearm.

My sister the cop was pissed the other day. She had chased down a guy that was 6'3" and 280 buff pounds. When she Tasered him he peed his pants. Why was she pissed? He didnt E36 M3 himself.

The funny potential must remain untapped, for the good of the forums...

I think when he said "I beleive I belong to my father in heaven, and his name is...YAAAHWEEEEEEHHHH!!!!!" he expected a deity to appear from the clouds and smite the cops

Edit: Oh, he calls on the compassions of the universe. If the cops weren't there, a powered taser would have fallen out of the sky on him for that one.

That's why I am not a cop. 1 minute in, I would have shot that moron. Then tazed the wife for filming.

This video pretty well illustrated one of the most difficult aspect of being a cop. That is: dealing with the millions of people in this and every country who are mentally ill. Talk to a cop, ask them about it. Those guys were exasperated with yet another loose loose situation. Anyone who post silly macho shyte about "I would have shot them" has no idea how difficult it is to be dealing with the realities of law enforcement on the street on a daily basis. That was a very tough situation, no one is dead or beat to E36 M3. Good Job.

1) (and this is important) I'm not your bro

2) maybe you didn't watch the whole video? the cops fail because the guy gets away. The guy was tasered for great justice, as you can tell from my thread title. You seem to be looking for a fight.

3) I would prefer that they used a firearm in this situation. Repeatedly. To the area below the forehead but above the chin.

4) Sometime the cops have to arrest someone. Sometimes the cops get to be the good guys. But most guys are cops for the wrong reasons and most of the time the cops I deal with are lazy A-holes. And I deal with them every week, in lots and lots of cases. "Yeah, I didn't bother writing up a police report when I found that woman in the street bleeding from the headwounds her husband inflicted on her... she didn't speak english so I didn't think she'd want to press charges anyway."

Good call, officer. Great call. Officer of the year caliber.

Ol boys need to work on their pt a little bit... i kid i kid. That is one of those situations we go over all the time. Was the taser necessary? maybe, maybe not, thats officer descresion, since i dont know the situation before hand and who this guy is, and i wasnt there i cant say whether or not id use it. Was it authorized? Yes. The taser is a compliance technique. He wasnt complying, they showed him the taser, he knew it was coming and still resisted, his fault. He did seem a little out there though so who knows if he even knew what planet he was on.

I get a kick all the time over people claiming "hes illegaly doing /whatever/!!" Really? You know my use of force? Are you a professional in law enforcement and criminal justice? Yes, like in any career field, theres the minority that doesnt know what theyre doing or on a power trip give the majority of us a bad rap, but you gotta have a thick skin in this field and remember that your doing your job for the better good of the public. All these punk gangsta wannabe kids that post comments on youtube vids about 'stupid cops and berkeley the police' would wake up to a harsh reality if there suddenly werent cops working the streets.

I have a cousin who is something of a bully. He was an MP in the army.. the local police force would not touch him. They interviewed him, did the psychological eval.. and decided he was in it for the power and was more a loose canon than they needed on the force.

So the system does work in some areas to keep the idiots off of the police force

my cousin is a cop.. He's been doing MMA for fun for about 10 years. He's got the crooked nose and cauliflower ear to prove it. He doesn't use the taser much.

I don't know if he is superman or what, but it seems like trying to taser him was what lead to his escape.

IMHO as a non law enforcement officer, officer #2 should have had his taser drawn and read to drop his ass just in case he was able to shuck free of officer #1, as he did indeed manage to do.

Two fat cops cant even manage to place cuffs on a single guy. Come on guys, you are trained for that. The cops panicked at the thought of being video recorded.

LMAO THAT'S FREAKING GREAT!!!!!! no I didn't watch all of it, don't have to. Two words, PAIN COMPLIANCE! that's why road cops don't become correctional officers. You are trying to lawfully arrest someone. They are resisting. "Give me your hand sir" "blah blah blah" "Your hand sir" "NO BLAH BLAH WITCH QUEEN" "YOUR HAND SIR, NOW" "NO BLAH BLAH HOLY E36 M3 OK OK OK" "thank you sir" Screw the taser, you don't have to hit someone with a lasp to make it hurt, pressing it into the right places will do the job just fine, don't have a lasp, use your thumb. Yup DT 101. Works great, go into a situation where there are over 100 of them and one of you and all you have is a pen, a pair of cuffs, and a radio. No 99 percent of road cops will not give up the other "tools". Sorry I've been hit with a taser enough for "training" that I don't flinch too much from em anymore, yeah they hurt, but the "belt" puts them all to shame, I know what's coming, I know what to expect. The little pissy ones they sell in the pawn shops for 30$ don't even phase me. Pepper spray? You may get me with it, but I can assure you that you will not like the results, and no I don't want your water hose or bucket of watter officer, I'm not dumb.

Now that being said, I'm not trying to come off as some sort of bad ass. That was the training I went through to become a correctional officer and a CERT team member. I loved that job, just not the politics of the job.
