maybe i missed it, i haven't seen anyone suggest beans..
i eat 2 eggs, 3 strips of turkey bacon (or real bacon, whatever i feel like buying, but turkey cooks faster), 1/3 of a can of rinsed black beans, 1 serving of either spinach from a can or baby spinach greens,16-32 ounces ice water, and then 32 ounces of coffee starting at breakfast and going through the day.
30 grams of protein within 30 minutes of waking up and only getting carbs from beans helped me lose weight, and i pretty much eat this same thing for my other meals, just swapping in chicken or kielbasa or something for lunch and dinner.

Seriously though, IMO grits had the same place in the "traditional" (pre-WW2) Southern US diet that rice does for Asians. Fill the belly with carbs with a smattering of proteins (eggs, bacon) on the side/top.

Plus eleventy billion. Same goes for turkey burgers, turkey hot dogs, in short anything other than turkey on the platter or sliced smoked turkey. Don't put a mask on the damn stuff.
While we are at it, do NOT put anything low fat or sugar free in my fridge and expect me to eat/drink it for it WILL find its way to the garbage disposal forthwith.
EDIT: I may have to turn in my man card for this, but damn I like Nutella.
I like Nutella too. Too bad they got sued by some soccer moms that were too stupid to realize it was candy.
Do you guys have chieners?

Interesting...you must go through a lot of peanut butter, though?
Lately I've been having Greek yogurt with muesli. Although, today was an omelette and a grapefruit drizzled with honey.
I'm keen to try the steel cut oats recipe posted on the first page; looks delicious!

We got chiggers.
The damn things get in at the top of your socks and around your pants waistband, they bite you and leave little red bumps that itch like hell. Is that the same thing?
We have Shiny Diners, or...well, we used to.
I love Gypsy's, even if my kids want to dump quarters into the jukebox the entire time we are there.

Don't think so.
We have a Nutella plant in town. My son's girlfriend works in the maintenance department, so if my job ever goes south, I'll probably try to get in there.
A lot of oat suggestions, and I really like these, they are always on sale for $1 a box, high in sugar but overall not too bad:
Grits are very good, too.

No.
These are good... The triple is honestly probably my all time most favoritest hot sauce of all time. In forever.

Instant oatmeal doesn't count, they take out all the good stuff.
Tall skinny guy here with hyper metabolic rate. The only breakfast I can eat that's better than oatmeal is Familia brand Swiss meusli. It's from...Switzerland. It costs about $4/pound, so don't freak out when you hear that it's $8 per 2-pound box; this is about on par with many cereals. Comes in a green (sugar free) box and a red one, which is sweetened, but not like an American processed cereal. The green is good for horses; the red is good for peoples.
The only place I can get it is, alas, Whole Paycheck. But it's worth it.

1/2 cup chocolate almond ,milk
1/2 cup skim milk
1/2 cup water
1 scoop protein powder
1 cup frozen berries
This fills me up bigtime.
I'm also a fan of doing an egg on 2 slices of Fiber One bread. That stuff fills me WAY up (12g of fiber will do that) . A PBJ on it is a VERY filling meal, FWIW.

Not really. If I have to be anywhere in the morning, I allocate about 15 seconds for breakfast; enough time for me to spoon a few globs of peanut butter yogurt into my gaping maw before heading out the door. Bowls? Who needs bowls?
And here I just eat 2-3 eggs a couple slices of toast, and maybe a glass of OJ. Gets me through lunch, and I have energy all morning.

I've been doing the Greek Yogurt with Muesli thing for my first breakfast before working out. When i saw how much protein is in Greek Yogurt i was all .
After i work out, i'll do steel cut oats or similar, or if i didn't bring that in, i'll grab 5-6 eggs, few sausage patties, and some sort of oatmeal/cream of wheat to keep me full for a few hours until lunch.
Man i'm kindof grossing myself out now that i realize just how much i eat.
biscuits and gravy + bacon and eggs do it for me
'course I'm 25 #'s overweight, diabetic, and have had 2 stints in my heart .. so you might not want to follow my example
