I know some of you folks are Technical Writers, so here goes. My son will be graduating in the spring with a degree in technical writing.Anyone able to give me an idea what a reasonable expectation might be for a starting salary in various parts of the country?
Your son should be able to get salary information from the Society for Technical Communication; his school should be able to get him access to their data.

STC has local chapters he can contact as well.
Salary can depend on the type of work he's doing: a technical editor will make way less than a programmer-writer (someone who documents software and understands code).
You'll also want to check the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Thanks Gang. I'll pass these links on to my son.
