I used to be skappes, but I've been away long enough that I have forgotten the password and
apparently the email address I used.
Anyway, I'm thinking about becoming a lender for the Techshop franchise opening in Durham.
Any opinions on the viability of the place? Anyone seriously thinking about joining up?
Thanks,
And oh yeah, OBAMA 08!
About your account, you should see if there's any way to get your old account back. Talk to Tim Baxter if you see him.
I thought you liked Bilary.......traitor!
Not to hijack my own thread but the Clinton's lost me when they started making up stuff over the last 3 months. I would have still voted for her if she had won but I'm really happy Obama did instead. It's the first bumper sticker I have ever had on a car. I've been reading Obama's first book, Dreams of My Father, and couldn't be more impressed. That and he reminds me of John Kennedy in the way that he handles attacks. JFK is a huge presence in my early political memories.

Hillary was hoping for the same thing.
I'm interested in the Techshop idea. I hope it catches on and opens somewhere near me. I need a place to hatch my sinister plans and can't afford a lair of my own.
I went to the TechShop meeting they had a few months back and met the company's founder, Jim and Scott, the guy that wants to open the local shop. They were both really cool, and there was quite a turnout of nerds, I mean people, at the meeting. I haven't seen much happening on the local techshop forum recently

I'm not sure if you will have to register before you can view the forum, but I don't think it's private.
I wish I could invest in it. Heck, I want to work there!
Hi,
I stumbled upon this post while searching for something else related to TechShop. I'm the Scott that EastCoastMojo spoke about. Thanks for the kind words, EastCoastMojo. Did you join the mailing list and check off that you wanted a job? We will be looking for people to work there.
I don't want to "barge in" here with a bunch of what sounds like advertising, but I will answer the questions that were presented and any others for that matter that anyone wants to ask.
The TechShop Forum is open to anyone that wants to join and I invite you to do so. I expect that the Forum will probably grow more as TechShop gets closer to actually opening. And that is getting closer to becoming a reality now that we have pretty much completed all the behind the scenes stuff. We're now a real business and will sign the lease any day now.
To address doitover's initial post, I think we may have already met, but if not, I will be happy to talk about becoming a Lender. You, or anyone else wanting information on becoming a Lender, can contact me directly via email which is scott@durham.techshop.ws
Scott
Hi Scott,
Yes we had lunch a week or two ago. Scott is a very interesting guy. If you are local and have a chance to get involved in techshop you really should check it out.
Hey Scott! It's me, Ashleigh, with the video cameras
Hi Ashleigh,
Get those video cameras charged up. There will be good use for them coming up soon because we'll all be meeting at the building sometime after the Fourth of July.
