I'd listen to a guy preach for a few hours for a chance at an AR-15. I know there are a lot of people that will pass this off as a bunch of dangerous bible thumping gun nuts (not saying they aren't) but from my experience it's pretty normal for a good portion of the country to go out shooting with friends and family for recreation. I have a bike and go riding with friends, I have cars and work on them with friends, I have a gun so I go shooting with friends. On a side note I think the AR-15 is also a good example of why the assault weapons ban is insane. It's just a rifle it does the same thing as most hunting rifles, it just costs half the price of a challenge car and is not easy to conceal. Your sawed off pawn shop 12 gauge is a hell of a lot more of an assault weapon than a high end rifle. When was the last time a 7-11 was held up at 200 yards?

Not even! Combine the 5-round mag cap is states like Florida (when hunting), and in some states that the .223 isn't legal for deer, it doesn't really do the same thing most hunting rifles! (They're hell on smaller critters, though...)

Massive uproar amongst the people.
I mean, everyone with half a brain knows it makes more sense for a mosque to give out AK-47s. Bonus irony points: if the mosque gave away a Galil.

You mean 550 meters, or maybe 800 meters because the 7-11 can qualify as an area target. :)
Is a M1 an assault rifle? It does have a bayonet lug. I would hate to see a pack of criminals armed with those, although they are relatively easy to acquire.

You mean AK47.

um, shouldn't jesus be holding an UZI, he was from israel...
Actually, when I was there rear troops/reservists were armed with M16's. Front line troops had the Galils. The women gurading the street corners generally carried Uzi's with extra mags. I was sitting in a beer joint with a shipmate about noon. Reservist walks in, leans his M16 against the bar, orders a beer. Pulls the mag and puts it in his pocket, walks to the bathroom, leaving the rifle leaning against the bar. Comes back, puts mag back in the rifle. Everything normal here.
I think that today they all have M16's/M4's because they get them free from us, but I'm not sure. That's just what I read somewhere. Haven't been there in a long time.
So, in your pic, depending on when it was taken and based on the particular model (either M4 or CAR-15) Hey-Soos would be a front line troop from today or maybe be a reservist from a few years ago. It doesn't look like a flat top. Looks more like a vintage CAR-15.
Think of the power that picture has.
Assault rifle (crackatactack) + Chuck Norris (Major kick ass) + The "son of God"...
I mean come on...

And his roundhouse kick is more lethal still.
I would love to find a wood kit for an AR. No real reson other than making people scratch their head's

You know, if you used Clint Eastwood's mug & either a rifle or shotgun, that picture would have looked totally normal.
