My home was built in 1929 and we recently replaced the windows and took out what I believe to be brass Sash Lifts and locks, and I 7 large screens, that I am not sure what the material, but I want to test it before I take and sell for scrap. Any suggestions on how to identify it? I can post some pictures at lunch of what I am trying to sell. I am trying to recoup some money from the expense of new windows.

Magnet and a file. Magnet- ferrous or not. File down the edge and see what color it is.

First, a magnet to determine ferrous or non-ferrous but that is a no-brainer.
Second, there is some type of common home based chemical that will turn different metals different colors but I'm not a metalurgist and can't remember what it is.

Old screen material would be either steel or brass. But even if it turns out to be aluminum it's still valuable and recyclable. Put some acid on it is brass it will show up.
