Needs to do a lemons/chump car!

Just think of the possibilities!

I'm thinking an hour long special or perhaps a two week series, where the guys buy and prepare the car, go through tech, and race!

It would be Legen ... wait for it ..... ...... dary!

Yeah that would be good, show something truly American haha that would be AWESOME! We need to contact them somehow. First season was a crash course but I guess I am one of the very few americans that's giving it a chance, bring on second season, hey at least we have a damn version. The first season of the Top Gear wasn't that great either, it took the 2-4th season to get good.

I believe the second season is already in the can since it was recorded at the same time the first season was recorded for the studio work.

From Tanner's Facebook post, he just said they got signed on for another season, like a month ago. Then he announced his temporary retirement from Drifting in order to do the show full time. I'll see if I can send him a message through Facebook and see if he actually gets it. Who knows! Maybe the Higher Powers of GRM have better connections?

EDIT: Posted it on Top Gear USA's Facebook page. LOL

If the show is like other Discovery Communications shows, they actively monitor the forums at the history channel. This idea has already been mentioned there a number of times over the past few months. (Twice by me, several times by others.) I also recommended bowler wildcat vs. swamp buggy at the Mile O' Mud in Naples, FL

If you're bound and determined to correspond with directly with the hosts, Rutledge's contact info is the easiest to find, and he was kind enough to reply when I did so.

I mentioned that, too.

The more times they hear an idea, the more likely they are to use it.

I'm curious if they monitor any of the bigger car forums as well.

That said, great that they pay attention to what the fans think. Did they get hammered about the first episode???

Looking forward to season 2.

I know of two forums that Rutledge has accounts at, but he's not really active on them. I expect that he's rather busy.

Yes. The history channel forums were - and still are - a bloodbath. The wannabe-eurotrash fanboys HATE everything about it. They need to get a life. The UK show is just as lowbrow....we seem to forget that because of the accent, though.

I read that as: "Discovery Networks want to sponsor a NASCAR race and now that they have a car show, they know what they can label it now."

I agree with Tasty Potatoes

but I say they do a Top Gear: US vs UK in LeMons that would seriously be epicly epic. The best thing to ever be televised

I advocate for a ChumpCar entry. More racing. Less black flags.

but then it is not really about the racing is it? especially for TV, USA vs UK Lemons would be epic, I would totally vote UK for peoples curse!

I definitely would love to see a cross-over episode similar to what the UK team did with the German show. And the US cast needs to show up in Revolutionary war garb.

My only issue with the first season was a few of the stunts/segments were 100% copies of the UK version. I understand that they did what was successful for the British show but I really hope they forge their own American identity. I also don't care if its lowbrow comedy.

Note to Top Gear US makers: If I want lowbrow, I'll watch TV more. Keep it classy, yet snarky guys.

Ding Ding

the show also just needs to be an hour long, without the commerials it's only 45 minutes, the UK has 15 over us.
