I would make the thing safe to drive and keep it as is. It wouldn't be terribly practical, but it would save it for the next guy to come along and dump the big bucks in to restore it.

Notice that there was rooom under the rear seats but Porsche decided to put the gas tank in the front and a storage area under the rear seats 
The garden around the fuel tank could use some plants.
Notice the bullet holes in the windshield, makes you wonder what happened to the last owner.

Why is it at $10k when this one is at $28k? It seems like that one is going to cost more to fix then just buying this good one.

This reminds me of one of my biggest car buying blunders. I had a chance to buy a 67 Mustang in amazing shape after being pulled from a barn for $7k. It still needed a full restoration, but needed zero metal work. I was working as a detailer at the time and didn't have the cash I do now to buy it. I buffed it out and slathered it with silicone tire shine over virtually every surface except for the glass and carpet. It looked brand new in pictures and did $17k on ebay. At the time they were going for low $20's for one in very good shape. I could have made $10k for buffing a car out.....albeit most likely having to deal with a pissed off buyer when he got it.
