I'd love to have that car to play with for a few days. I'd say this one isn't as impressive as the others, but I assume location has a lot to do with that......

I don't see why the location would contribute to this one being less impressive. The UAE has all of the money and gives none of the berkeleys.
That was fun. Ken's nuts and has some wicked car control. Note how many of those shots are the first take compared to the earlier videos.
I've gotta say, Dubai has a fairly ineffective police force although it sure is omnipresent.

Youd think theyd be able to stop a multimillion dollar drag race down one of their highways....
From what I've seen of Dubai in magazines and on Top Gear, that's a normal occurrence. I swear they must have Supercar Highway Drag Race Sundays five times a month.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Dubai. What a great example of American spending power.
Of course we just spent it all on oil and they get to build one of the craziest playgrounds in history with the proceeds of living on a big puddle of long dead dinosaurs.
As always he can drive. I will say they left out all the speed bumps! Dubai has them freaking every couple blocks!!
My location statement was more that it's was probably too expensive to bring all the props and stuff (like friends on Segway's) to Dubai as opposed to somewhere in the States.
But, I will say that while the drifting spins were impressive, it seemed to have less craziness and outrageous stunts as the ones before.

Idk. The high speeds and actual driving skill made it much more interesting to me. Also, where the hell else are you going to be able to donut a moving 747?

Those sand drifts are an actual thing in Dubai. Makes for puckery moments in the Lambo when you discover one.
The man has some skill behind the wheel. I'll give him that.
This one was kind of boring though. The 747 was cool, the willingness of Dubai to participate in his shenanigans was very cool. The helicopter spinning while he did doughnuts around it, cool. The rest of the performance was just more of the same old stuff.
Maybe there just wasn't enough air time.
I still enjoy watching them.
Always fun to watch. The camera on the side of the car brings up a question for me- the wheels have the solid disc that stands proud of the tire by an inch or so. They are pretty common on high end endurance cars. Brake cooling fans? Fashion?
It's almost certainly fashion in most cases now, but this article ( bbs wheel history ) indicates they were originally designed for Audi to help evacuate air from under the car to improve downforce !

Yeah, this one definitely felt very "meh" after the lunacy that was 7. Honestly, they're pretty hit and miss. The original was amazing and raw. 2 was okay but got a little too heavy on the slow-mo. 3 was a bit more like the original, very few gimmicks just a badass track and car. 4 got kind of silly. 5 was awesome on the huge scale. 6 was boring and really lacking in the scope of previous ones. 7 was crazy, largely because of the car. This one is more of the same ol' same ol', would have been more impressive if it had been 6 but feels like a step back after 7.

Dubai is so jaded with crazy stuff in cars and they love money so this makes sense. I didn't feel like their police were omnipresent though since I hardly ever saw them. One of the safest cities I've ever been to though. It's amazing how safe a place can be when the penalties are so stiff. That being said, they had trash all in the desert on the popular 4 wheeling trails and I wish they had more enforcement of that.

I have a near bradycardic pulse... All of these videos just are meh. Not my cup of tea for "motorsports".

The omnipresent comment was based on the fact that there were police cars all over the video. This was obviously part of the show, and I thought it was a good base for a joke.
I have never been to Dubai.
