We live directly across the street from a large cemetery. Very peaceful and they keep it very well. This morning we noticed a strange car in front of our driveway. Went out to see what was going on and a nicely dressed man got out to chat. With a badge and a gun. Turns out that thugs were breaking into cars during services. Cop was there for surveillance. He was out there for 2 hours, don't know if he had any success. That is a pretty low kind of crime.
Never underestimate how low the human animal can get.
Nothing surprises me much anymore as how low people can go. I suspect the drug epidemic has a lot to do w/ that.
They're criminals. You think they have morals?

Cop is still there. Looks like surveillance can be very boring. Until it's not.

Is he sitting in an unmarked P71? I'm pretty sure criminals know what that means.
Thieves will target the homes of the deceased during the funeral. Great people huh?

I was at calling hours a few years ago when the funeral home parking lot got hit. IIRC 6 cars got broken into for purses and phones.
Whenever someone in the family dies, we get a house sitter for during services.

Actually he was driving a Ford Explorer. Conspicuous only because the windows were super tinted. Spoke with him, they had 4 cops watching. Invited him to come by any time he wanted. Carried a Glock 19.
Just when you thought people had sunk to the bottom...

Car guy: The details you remember are what vehicle it was and what his sidearm was.
That's messed up man. I'm not normally a huge fan of law enforcement, but I'd bake them cookies for a cause like that.
People leave extensive evidence of having used cemeteries here as a lovers' lane...not the parking lot either, but among the graves. And there's no goth culture around here, so it's weird.

You haven't? Everywhere is "lovers' lane" when the mood strikes.

An ancient practice. Some of the oldest wood carvings in human history depicts such things.
People are just as nasty and wonderful as they have ever been.

but what if we want to blame the current guy in the White House- or the guy that was there before the guy before him- for the current lack or morals?
I remember being ten when we had a funeral in the family. I remember the important part about wording the death announcement was being careful about how much information you included about the family and the services. You didn't want to print an announcement in the paper about how you were planning on not being home (that home being at a specific address) for a few hours on a specific day and time.
My friends ex-wife was busted with her current husband stealing flowers from the cemetery after services and re-selling them at her mom's shop.
I was surprised at first. Then I wasn't. I do, however, wish they'd gone to jail. They got off with little more than a "slap on the wrist".
My mom lived across from a cemetary that some hipsters decided to vandalize. Because there was a civil war monument in top of one grave... people do stupid E36 M3.

Probably because the flowers had served their purpose. And I am not condoning it.

I heard a story where someone got their grill stolen. A couple days later it was sitting on their porch with a note. Note went something like this "Our son stole your grill, we found out and made him return it. You weren't home. Here are some tickets to the Brewers game this weekend. Sorry"
Yup, there house was burglarized while they were at the game.

This is why I hate it when people announce on facebook that I'm at a bar or restaurant or cubs game or the like. I don't want people to know I'm not at home.
Hmmm, I think I'm going to go and delete my facebook tonight. Or at least go through and purge friends again.
