Maybe not the anatomy but maybe the reverse engineering and then the once again forward engineering.
This all leads to a really cool Instrumental version by a bunch of young talented guys. I was just tipped off to this and thought you might like.
The intro of Kool and the Gang's 1987 R&B song "Hollywood Swinging"

was combined with the intro of Marva Whitney's 1967 R&B "Unwind Yourself"

to create DJ Kool's 1996 Rap song "Let Me Clear My Throat"

Here on Youtube this year is a group of young guys called the Cincy Brass performing a really cool live all instrumental version.

Thats pretty cool. Similar to Kid Rock and his mash-up of "Werewolves of London" and "Sweet Home Alabama" to create "All Summer Long."

Not just hip-hop. I have heard Amen Break in White Zombie, Fear Factory, KMFDM... basically, anywhere there is electronic to be found, it's probably there.

Very cool, though people referring to actual samplers (i.e., not just a program on your computer,) as 'vintage' equipment, makes a crackuh feel very, very old.
I just realized something...
On the Metallica box set Live Sh*t: Binge & Purge, there's a between-song screwing around thing that Lars and James did on drums. Guess what one of the things they played was...
In reply to Knurled:
was it YYZ? no wait, that was Primus' intro to John the Fisherman...

I watched that clip a few years back. It's one I tell my students to track down--very well put-together. So relevant.
