I'm partial to a watchamacallit. But the Baby Ruth is easily among the top 5 candy bars widely available in the US.
Another unsung hero in the Great Candy Bar Wars is the Sky Bar:
This one rules. It has something for everyone!
Classic Twix or full size almond joy are my main reaches when I want a candy bar.
But I'm finding I don't like most chocolate coatings on candy bars anymore. Something has changed, whether it's personal or recipe changes I haven't been able to nail down.
My go-to sweet grab the past year or so has been Reese's Pieces. I don't like their peanut butter any other time but the pieces are great.
KitKat: Any candy bar that is so good that it can be used to make it's own filling, certainly deserves to be near the top of the list.
In reply to Tony Sestito :
Good in theory, but I could never get past the lousy milk chocolate on the Sky Bar. I vastly prefer dark chocolate in general, but I can tolerate most milk chocolates if there are other flavors to distract me. But the Necco-branded milk chocolate didn't fall into that category.

I won't eat a KitKat bar based entirely on their disgusting, slobbery ads.

Is that real? If so, dang, I should get out more.

Never seen or heard of this before.
Now I want to try one!
My go to is the largest Tootsie Roll I can find. Technically not a candy bar (chocolate toffee roll). But don't care.
Or get me a 100,000 bar.
Or Milky Way. Regular or Dark.
I hate anything with nuts.
or anything chocolate related sold at Aldi's. I really prefer "European" style chocolate now that my palettes' more mature. (i.e. I'm old)
Driven5 said:Nuts are not candy, and reduce the inherent candyness of the candy bar... Thus nothing on the 'best candy bar' list should have nuts in it.
Also, nothing on the 'best candy bar' list should look like a literal turd. It should look as appetizing as it tastes.
Prove me wrong.
Sir, I think it's time you visit a Gastroenterologist if this is the case for you.
Baby Ruth is a quality candy bar. I'm not much for candy bars anymore, on the off change I pick up a candy bar, it's likely going to be a Snickers Ice Cream Bar.
Most of the time if my sweet tooth gets going I'd rather have some quality ice cream.
Back in the old days, we had a term for a candy bar packed with all the nuts, nougat and good stuff, but the forum filter will censor it. :)
If I have to, I'll eat a Snickers for an afternoon pick-me-up.
If I'm in it for the chocolate, it's got to be 70% dark with sea salt.
Does anyone still jam a popsicle stick into a Milky Way or 3 Musketeers and put it in the freezer?
Similar to Baby Ruth, a Santa Fe candy maker puts out Pinon Nut bars. Salty-sweet, pretty good!
And must not forget:
Not a candy bar per say. But neither are these:
I don't even have to attach a name to those.

Mars Bars are common up here in Canada, I was in the states and super excited to try a Milky Way only to find it was the exact same thing. Wikipedia tells me a 3 Musketeers Bar (Mar Bar/Milky with only nouget inside, no caramel) is the global Milky Way outside of the US and Canada, strange!
