I'm looking forward to the MLB postseason. As a Mets and Red Sox fan, I look forward to watching both. Plus the Yankees are nearly eliminated. Although I must admit that the Cubs are on fire, are more than due, and the "close but a little off" nature of BTTF2 has me thinking this may be the year. This will be an interesting postseason.

I'm a fair weather Red Sox fan. I'll be on vacation in SoCal during the World Series. So I'm kinda hoping it'll be the Sox and LA Dodgers.
Big O's fan here. They've got the second wildcard spot right now but it's getting uncomfortable. Not super confident about a 1-game playoff in Toronto either.
The Cubs are over 100 wins for the first time since 1935.
In reply to Ed Higginbotham:
I'm with you. I'm not sure what it is with this team, but they're lacked intensity and the willingness to take pitches since the end of July. It's like they were given a piece of news or information as a group that can't be told and opposed to rallying behind it and using it as resolve that they're wilting for not being able to disclose something.
And don't get me started on the local fans not being able to get 25k out to the yard unless it's a giveaway night. The team deserves better.
When it's all said and done, there will be statues of Theo Epstein built in both Chicago and Boston. If that guy manages to bring World Series titles to both of those towns---- he'll be the best GM in the history of the sport.
It's been fun to watch the Cubs, as many of their players came through Daytona--- back when our minor league team was a Cubs franchise. (it's now the Reds) The last time I checked they were 45 games over .500! For most of my life a Cubs season around the .500 mark was a success. Now it's different....there is hope!
It's going to be a fun post-season. You can also bet that I'll be heading back to Chicago if they make the World Series--- at least to watch a game in the City. (no way I'll be able to afford an actual ticket into the game)
That city will go INSANE if they win! Well......on except on the South side---- they'll be pissed off as usual!
Harry Caray is shotgunning Budweisers in his grave!

My feelings exactly. My friend Luke and I down here in FL are fairly recent transplants from the Eastern Shore of Maryland. We were planning on making a banzai trip up to Camden Yards and back if the wild card game was at home. But alas, that plan seems to be disintegrating.

Where's irish44j? Figured he'd have hopped in to the O's discussion by now.
Ed, if you and your friend do end up coming up for any possible games, you should hook up with him. I'm sure he'd be interested.
As a true MA-Hole, I am hoping the Red Sox send David Ortiz into retirement with a 4th World Series ring. They have been crazy hot lately, and were on an 11 game winning streak until last night when the Yankees edged them out.
Red Sox vs. Cubs would be a great series. I'd be happy with either winning. (MA-Hole here too).
I'm a Phillies fan, so this conversation would have been relevant to my interests 6-10 years ago. Now we just get to watch Ryan Howard collect a stupid amount of money to hit .197 and strike out 3 times per game.

Our Jays went for a bit of a swan dive through most of September but the last few series have gone well and I am hoping the lay another beating on Baltimore tonight! Pitching and hitting are both waking up, at just the right time. Jose Bautista has had a bit of a rough season with stints on the disabled list but his batting is really starting to wake up.
In reply to Klayfish:
The Phillies have a bright future in the next couple years at least. Good young crew just breaking into the majors. I stashed Franco away in my fantasy league. I think he'll have a good year in 2017.
In reply to NGTD:
Tell your boys to take it easy on them tonight.
I'm just hoping the Tigers can keep playing the Indian's "JV team". Otherwise, I'm pretty sure we don't make it.

Isn't your life basically a vacation nowadays?

Go sports ball franchise!
The Cubs could march through the playoffs and win the World Series in a sweep, and Cubs fans will still wait five or six days before celebrating because they'll just know it's someone playing a massive prank on them.
Those 100+ wins are great, but it's just going to make the inevitable meltdown that much more disappointing. Still pulling for them, though.
It's college football season, what are you all talking about
In reply to Ed Higginbotham:
McPhail building the Phillies up while Duquette destroys what he built in Baltimore :(
The Jays seem to have discovered how to play small ball. First 140 games, its home runs or nothing. Couple of weeks ago, they played the Mariners, and one of the pitchers was capable of telegraphing his windup so clearly that they basically doubled their stolen base total in one game. Since then, they have been manufacturing runs, in addition to homers.
Anyway- Wildcard AL game is Toronto and Detroit, Toronto wins. Doesn't matter, because Boston kicks the crap out of all comers.
Cubs win the NL, and then in the world series, both Boston and Chicago revert to proper form, and both alternately give games away. Seventh game has to be decided by a coin toss, because its 32 innings, and nobody has scored a run yet.
That's mean...I'd love to see a Cubs/Sox series. It would be fun to have TO there, but I don't think they are quite the team they need to be just yet.

On the brightside for the Phillies, they have 6 players with 15+ homeruns for the first time in a long time. Talk about spreading the long ball around. I smell Ryan Howard being picked up by an AL team for DH purposes next season (if they are okay with his hefty salary history ).
