Wow, I wish our culture was more helpful to elderly women crossing the street. It's almost like it is a law to stop your car and do so. That was pretty heart warming.

The avg american can't afford to buy the cell phone in their pocket outright.
I'd much prefer auto ins. discounts based off a dashcam than I would ones based on a driving habit OBDII plug in.

It's not any different. They could pace you off road signs or lights and determine if you're speeding, etc.

I'm just shocked at anyone who would be willing to submit to that.
Submit to installing a dash cam? It's not like big brother would be looking at the footage whenever they wanted, just in the case of an accident. I'd never install a nanny on anything I drove. Plus lets admit it, dash cams catch some amazing E36 M3 not driving related.
I've been running one for about a month and a half now. Cost me about $75 off ebay. 720p, not the best video, but decent, and the audio sucks, but its nice to have in case my next accident is like the last one, an unlicensed driver who lies about right of way.
