Woke up to a cold but sunny day. Turned out the boarder's horses then came back in and made coffee. Moved and stacked a couple of bush cords of firewood. Made a dump run. Plowed the driveways in prep for another dusting of snow tomorrow. I'm now having a pre-dinner drink with my Wife. All in all a simple but great day.
Tackled my rear drums today, went way smoother than I remember them going last time I did them. Took the dash apart to fix few rattles with some felt tape. Mounted harnesses and vaccumed out the car.
Then replaced the leaky coolant crossover pipe on SWMBO's focus.
And to top it off, no extra parts left over from either endeavour. Time to clean off, light the grill and poutr some beer into my head.
Fiance just passed her RD exam!

My wife was chosen to be inducted into the Academy of Geological Engineering and Sciences where we went to school. Only a couple of people a year get chosen and it's pretty cool. I'm proud of her. She sits on an advisory council for the university and helps students as an industry advisor on senior projects and stuff. The award doesn't really mean anything, but she is taking me with her to accept it. 
I managed to get rid of an unwanted car and get a full roll cage for the wife's race car at the same time. I'm pretty excited.

Leaving Yoga last night I turned out of the parking lot to see a pickup truck backed into a ditch. Looked like they were doing a quick 3 point and mis-calcalculated. I pull up and get out and a young kid pulls down the window.
Me: Need help?
Him: You have a tow strap
Me: Of course (I'm driving the F350 dually)
Grab the tow strap from behind the rear seat. He hooks up his truck as I pull around and through a small retention pond (dry) to get a straight shot. Hook to the front tow hook and "pop" he's out in less than 20 seconds. Get unhooked and the kid says "Thanks". I say no problem, I have been towed out myself on a few occasions.
I love being prepared and having the right tools for the job.
I'm going to look at a Boxster this weekend. We'll see if I end up with it.

Was in a bad mood, then a sad mood, now in a good mood. Absolutely nothing has changed in the last 5 hours.
Except a nap and more school work. You'd be surprised how depressing it is to read about human rights and cultural relativism. Mostly the lack of both, but also how they clash in a sort of no-win scenario type of way. On the other hand, naps are awesome, and so is Korean food, and I had both this afternoon.
Was in a poor mood yesterday. A friend is living in Raleigh and sent me a picture of his car, which he just waxed. It turned into an hour phone call of me complaining about the cold and not being able to work on any of my projects due to lack of adequate shop space and heat.
Today was 50* and sunny. Although I didn't do much due to a back injury, it still felt good just breaking down boxes in the garage and straightening up a bit. I can finally get to my tools again
Tim's editorial on taking it easy and lusting for life made this trip fishing with My Uncle tom all the more satisfying .

Snow here last week & according to some it's supposed to snow here next week. Meanwhile, today tree frogs are chirping & I saw my 1st mosquito of the year.
Spent 5hrs & $500 on a parrot's broken leg Saturday instead of enjoying 60F weather, but I sold the xB later that day! And this morning I saw my car on Featured Ride for the first time.

Picked up a spare engine and 5spd tranny for my GLC obsession today. The seller had a ton of Mazda stuff, an RX3 coupe, RX3 wagon, RX4, FA and a RHD FA! Tons of spares laying around. We shot the E36 M3 for an hour and while walking around his shop he sold me a pair of no name racing seats for $20 and gave me an adjustable rear wing off a 300Z he is parting out.
GLC engine looks in great shape and came with all accessories, radiator, electric fan, coil, etc. Good day!
Yesterday, finally was able to get the bike out for a ride for the 1st time in over 3 months.
Just got promoted to manager, ownership of a new pilot program and a $10k raise. Feeling good.
I'm pretty happy. So glad to finally be back in an SVT!
Got the new-to-me rx7 fired and running without the aid of ether yesterday. Went to work today, and had extra people, so I finalized last week's payroll for my crew and then left.
Got to hang with Aussie for a bit while he was in town, and am now drinking beer and eating wings. Life is pretty damn good right now!!!
Just got back from Road Atlanta. I was racing my E Production RX7 and got a 3rd on Saturday and 2nd on Sunday. Nice way to start my season defending my 2013 EP Majors Championship.
Memorandum title came in the mail for the Abarth yesterday, got real plates this morning. No more fugly temp tag.
