Step 1: Have you and a friend take over a European specialty shop.
I know, it's an incredibly off-target day job for a PR alumni, but hey, who doesn't like playing with cars? Having WorldPac and tire wholesaler portal access on my phone is as awesome as it is dangerous, plus it's always fun working with enthusiasts to keep their cars in proper shape. Don't worry, I'm still writing about cars, but being surrounded by cool old stuff is a nice way to balance out the overwhelming competence seen in new cars and dispel some of the myths around depreciated luxury cars.

The youngest one is 25 years old, or about as old as an original Ford Falcon was when the Taurus first debuted. It's bonkers how time works.
This was not the solution I was hoping for.

Quite the wild ride you have had since leaving Kitchener area.
Can you elaborate on what you mean by "Take Over" ?

Asset buy-out. We maintained all assets including IP, plus maintained all technicians, it's just a new numbered company operating under the same name. Saves us from any of the previous owner's potential tax liabilities. It's also in the famous abandoned BMW dealer that went viral a decade ago, so having that history and architecture is quite cool.

Thanks! I still have no money (no 996 in the driveway yet), but being able to network with the right people has helped heaps over the past few years.

Not having a 996 in the driveway is a sign of high IQ

Somehow I still manage to subvert that by relying on a high-mileage early-DCAN BMW for reliable transportation.
Truthfully, I love the concept of a Corvette but don't like the list of NLA parts or the way they go all numb around 8/10ths. Air-cooled 911s are stupid money and 997.1s seem more prone to bore scoring than early 996s, so a manual 3.4L 996 with proper service history should do the trick in a few years. It's all just armchair football though.

That all sounds like a lot of K series swapped Miata to me.

I've actually been looking for a 996... :/
Figured I'd update this with cool stuff that's rolled through the shop
Turbocharged E36
An early (1985) Testarossa and a tasty 964 C4
