If only someone could've stopped those berkeleying whack-jobs who wrote and signed the Declaration of Independence. Seriously. Everybody has to pay taxes. Jefferson, Adams, Franklin and the like should've just STFU and paid like everyone else. Scumbags. We should destroy that document, and any reference to it, so that no one will be provoked to do anything like that ever again!

That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.

that's not even close to the same thing, nor is it what I'm talking about. I'm talking about people who like to end their own life and take a few others out with them. I'm not speaking to the political nature of this guys actions. The methods used at the time of our revolution were not murder-suicide plots, the purpose of our declaration was not to incite civil unrest without purpose. This guy was taking out his frustration with his own life by ending it and taking as many members of the IRS in that building that he could. He wasn't trying to organize and begin a revolutionary form of government in our country. It's people like the VT shooter, Columbine, and this guy that I'm talking about.

I'm not saying a media blackout is the answer. I don't know what the answer is. That's why I'm asking. Obviously what we do today doesn't seem to do a lot to prevent these things as they seem to happen about 1/month.

I disagree with you there. (I think?) As long as we're making broad-based assumptions about this cat, based on very limited knowledge of events (which is totally fine IMO, as long as we recognize it as such,) I'd speculate that the guy didn't say "I'm going to kill myself, might as well take a bunch of berkeleyers with me," but more likely said "I'm going to take out some of these berkeleyers who've made my life miserable, and I sure as E36 M3 ain't gonna stick around for the cops to show up so I can go to ass-rapin prison for the rest of my miserable life." At which point, in theory, flying a plane into a building full of the people you want to kill is a pretty efficient method.

I personally think we should report suspicious board posts like this to the high exhaulted leaders so they can properly interrogate the participants to make sure their motives are pure. You never know what some of these people might be capable of. Best not to take chances. Round them up.

A more accurate way of saying this would be: it depends what side you are on. In WW II, the Japanese and Germans viewed Allied soldiers as barbarians and vice versa. Currently the Muslim radicals view their homicide bombers as heroes and us as terrorists and vice versa.

The main difference is that the victorious side gets to write the history books.

But back to the thread subject: this poor schmuck felt like he'd been buttberkeleyed enough and was just not willing to take it any longer. Having been on the bad end of governmental gridlock before, I can wholeheartedly understand his frustration.

At some point those who are smart enough to realize how bad Big Gummint is shafting us Schmucky the Clown types so a relative few can walk around feeling important about themselves will revolt. I only hope the revolution is ballot box driven: i.e. bloodless.

No, I was talking about what passes for "News" in our world today. Nearly all news has become commentary, and not even decent commentary. More like snarky, sarcastic insults masquerading as "satire." Actually it's not even masquerading as satire. Its spewers claim that it is satire when they wouldn't know the first thing about what satire actually was if you beat them to death with a stack of Mr. Show DVDs.
