I realized a few months ago that I see a LOT of XJ Cherokees. So I started counting them. An average of 25 per day. It was kind of a shock. 90% of them are lifted with light bars, roof baskets and snorkels. There are orders of magnitude more modded XJs on the roads of Eugene OR than any other enthusiast vehicle.

Second to that would be Cummins powered Dodge trucks in full mall crawler garb sporting lift kits, road armor bumpers and black and machined finish wheels.  After that you get into the WRX crowd and then the Civic folks. Then the slammed VW group.

So what is most common in your area?

4 door Wranglers. Most are bro-dozer approved, and mall rated. Low profile tires on 20 inch rims and enough LED light bars to light up a football field.

Probably the AE101 Corolla. Wheels, tires, lowering springs, exhaust and stick-on ricey stuff are the most common mods.

The giant diesel pickup of any manufacture... followed closely by the FJ Cruiser.

The mall rated lift kit and LED light bar are defacto standards here.

GTI's spanning a number of model years stanced out closely followed by WRX's of all flavors wishing they were actually fast here in PA. Mostly driven by rural PA's best imitation of bros.

My comment to my wife when we moved to PA was that a lot of these types seem to be doing their best approximation of CA "Bro Culture" (Yes I lived in that part of CA many of my friends are real deal off road or die bros) without actually having been exposed to it. It's even more obnoxious than actually living the bro culture areas like the desert since they talk sort of like bros, wear California T-Shirts, and high black socks but with a redneck twist.

Now that you mention it, I do see a crap-load of modified XJ's.    But I think even those are out-numbered by modified Wranglers.

Trucks, a surprising number of which actually have mud on them. Followed by Wranglers that don't.

Then comes the assorted Honda and Subies.

In reply to Huckleberry :

I've seen heavily modded FJ Cruiser several times around here with the vanity plate "UCK EEP".  [eyeroll]

DMV must have been asleep at the wheel for that one.

I'm pretty sure Portland/Vancouver is the Subaru yabo capital of the world.  Harleys, Cherokees, and brodozers are up there on the list, though.

You can drive to Moab from here offroad. So yeah, Jeeps.

I used to think a modified Jeep was a poseur because there wasn't really anywhere to drive one in Ottawa. Now I figure a stock Jeep owner is a poseur, because it means they obviously don't use it properly.

Bro dozers - any brand, mall-rated wranglers, wrxs, civics and as a sub-category, audis with black wheels

Diesel trucks. Then 1/2 ton 4x4s from the 90s done in the same style as the diesel trucks. After that I haven't done an accurate census count to figure out if it's mini trucks, 80s/90s pony cars, or import compacts that don't deserve the word "sport".  The Honda crowd is fairly well represented.  The BMW contingent is big enough to be seen. I know of exactly 1 Miata kid.  Then of course you can't go anywhere without your old guys in hot rod Fords and GM products.

Those are common here too. Probably second only to civics. We also have a smattering of miatae in various states of decay, the requisite pavement diesels, and piles of jeeps. All of them white.

Dodge diesels.

Because one of the local dealers will finance ANYONE. They even advertise "when even your mom won't lend you money".

Every neck-tattooed flat brim out here has a lifted diesel dually.

F-250 by a wide margin. There are probably 30 lifted or lowered trucks for every obviously modified car.

Now, if we look at the percentage of modified - the ratio of modified to stock Miatas in our town seems a bit out of kilter for some reason.

I was gonna say F-250. By far the most modded here. A large number are super duty.

4-door Wranglers get most of the love out here.  Also diesel trucks with DPF delete.  I am fond of what Hill's Hot Rods does with square body Chevys, though. https://goo.gl/Qmtkbt
