Well now it makes sense.
"It also has a jet engine, weighs nearly 15 tonnes, is 44ft long and does 130mph"
Who the berkeley was ballsy enough to do THAT?

Look at the wheelbase. That thing has the turning radius of Neptune and weighs almost as much. I'm sure it's extremely stable at speed,. and Saudi Arabia is full of long, empty, straight, and beautifully paved 4-lane roads.
Who can put me in touch with the second place bidder? I'll build them one that is longer, heavier, faster, and cheaper at only $12.5 million.

I wonder if maybe it has a "pony" starter motor like an old bulldozer and that uses the stacks?
I remember when this engine was in Hot Rod Magazine, there was some serious engineering. I still like Pissed Off Pete better, but this thing is kind of cool in an absurdly excessive way, and I bet that under throttle this thing sounds like the end of the world coming.
Insane.
Anyone else not counting 12 blowers? I see maybe 9.
One can only imagine what sort of fuel mileage (fuel footage?) this thing gets.
I don't get it. I get that people build over the top E36 M3 from time to time, but that thing is completely stupid and I don't understand how in hell its worth $1.33m let alone $13.3m.

Ok what plane uses a 24 cylinder Detroit diesel? And when did we start referring to those engines as jets?
I really want to see the 24 cylinder 2 stroke diesel powered plane though.
Edit: nevermind. Small turbine used as a starter motor apparently. Appears they are technically correct, the best kind of correct.

And he apparently spent $7M building it, not including his labor.
I wonder what the torque rating is.
I'm wondering why the top speed is only 130 mph, unless by "top speed" they mean "this is as fast as we're willing to push our luck".

Actually I think it's technically INcorrect -- APUs are "gas turbines", but they don't directly provide thrust with the exhaust and are therefore not "jet engines". :-)

I'm guessing the turbine is what uses the stacks behind the cab.
How many years has this stupid thing been around and there's never been any WOT vids, no speed, nothing
It's a 13 million dollar cocktease

I would imagine that hitting 130mph would be the easy part. Getting this thing hauled down from 130mph is probably terrifying.

The new owner probably grows oil for a living. MPGs are likely not even a thought.
I'd drive it.

Being a diesel, it's probably a combination of RPM redline and gearing.

Oh of that I have no doubt... anyone spending $13M on any vehicle probably isn't too concerned about fuel economy. Still, I'm curious to know.
OK it's 2 siamesed 12v71's. But what I wanna know is how the berk those dozen blower belts are driven. Is there a friggin millworks hiding on the driver side or what?

Single blower drive on the front. It then has a jackshaft that passes through the intake manifold with drives off of it at the other 2 sets of blowers
If he was serious about making power then a some turbos woulda made more sense but a dozen blowers is moar bling I suppose.

Aerodynamic drag is a mofo.
