Watched the show last night and was not disappointed. I really did not expect much and it delivered not much. I think they would be better off if they just stopped airing the competition and just went to who ever they select and start making shows.

Have you watched The White Rabbit Project?
It casts the other 3 members of mythbusters (Kari, Tory and Grant)
I will give it a shot but I really came to hate Kerry and her two boy toys in the last two or three seasons they were on. I don't blame them it was all how the producers cast them. I can only hope that they fix that in this show.
I was actually glad they were gone for the last season. It tightened up the show and made it watchable again.
During the "every Mythbusters ever" marathon I was reminded how much better the blonde woman - Scotty - was than Kari.

Kerry was great at the start but as the show went on the producers killed her personality. The fake high fives and fake excitement just made I so contrived it was puke inducing. Same goes for Grant and Torry. You coil see how forced things were getting. It really made them un watchable. It is to bad that they could not just let them be who they were. The dichotomy between Kerry Grant and Torry is what made them so good in the beginning.
The White Rabbit Project sucks. In the latter seasons, Mythbusters sucked as well. I can't imagine the new one being any better.
Saw the premiere. Ugggh, it was terrible. Typically reality show tropes, very little science or engineering. And... what the hell was the point of the football catching segment??? To show nerds are bad at football? A couple of the contestants showed promise to be good sequels to Adam and Jamie but overall very difficult to watch.
I've been watching some of Adam Savage's videos on Youtube (search for Tested.) There's a lot of costume building and other nerdy stuff but you can pick and choose what you want to watch if that's not your style.
I like White Rabbit Project. The first episode was a bit lacking, but by the last few I've watched, it seems like they know what they want the show to be.
The stink-bomb at the gun range segment was hilarious.
The whole "reality contest" BS makes me not even want to watch the new show.
I watched for about 10 minutes. Then couldn't take it anymore. What I appreciated in the original is that it had special effects experts finding ways to challenge myths. This was a reality tv game show of sort of like a junkyard wars meets survivor meets outrageous acts of science. Makes it easier to not watch tv. I'll give it that.

You laugh, I'm actually filming an episode today. Building a solar heater. I'll post it up when I get it done in a week or so.

Didn't say she was a ten, just that I'd hit it. Seems pretty cool so that's worth a point on the 0-10 scale. I vote 7, all factors being considered.
There are better pictures out there but I don't want gga trouble.

Scottie Chapman: No worse looking, much less annoying.

Not laughing at all. Your builds, and the documentation thereof, are most entertaining indeed.
I watched the White Rabbit Project with the kids (aged 10 and 12). Perfect for them. A little bit of story telling, some light science and little humour. The hosts are the best part of the show as the ranking of six scenarios is a little off at times.
Going back on topic for a minute, I watched 5 minutes of the new show and turned it off. Reality TV competitions shows rarely appeal to me. I'll try it again when the casting process is over.
In reply to Dave:
Yeah, I could do without the ranking bit as well, but at least it doesn't take up much time or really detract much from the stories.
Speaking of other women on Mythbusters, I remember Jessie Coombs sub'd for a season while Kari Byron was on maternity leave.
Thought it was weird that they just didn't continue MythBusters with Kari, Grant and Tory.
Why go through all the machinations of finding new hosts when they already had a trio with a following?
Sorry, they both loose to Jessi Combs. (took over while Kari was on maternity leave, which I did not cause I swear) She took first place in Stock Modified at the King of the Hammers! Which they need to rename Queen of the Hammers. She can weld, wrench, tune, fix, build...you name it. She rocks.

because they only care about profits and "Reality" shows are cheap to produce since you don't have to pay the rubes that volunteer to show up very much money and you don't have to do any real science, just enough flash and bang to keep people watching so you can throw ads at them.
The known hosts cost money, the real science experiments cost real money. The people that own Discovery, TLC and the Science Channel care very little about what the names of their channels say, just that they can get people to watch for as cheaply as possible.
