I still have my MULE but it's mostly used as a JY tool kit.
I also have a thin Fanny pack from the running store, it holds a phone and keys and ID and 6 Honey Stingers.

I don't carry enough on my person to need a fanny pack. But I do have a small backpack that stays with me either in my vehicle or on my back if I go hiking that houses enough assorted sundries to be able to survive a three or four day walk home from wherever I may be stranded along with some first aid essentials.
Slightly off topic but I've been trying to find a solution for this for work. Although I don't think fanny pack will be the answer. Daily "loadout" while I'm working: car/house keys, work keys, cell phone, work cell phone, android device about the size of a cell phone for inventory and such, box cutter, tablet which I can't fit in my pockets so I have to remember where I left it last and whatever random other crap I pick during the day.
At this point I'm looking at tool belts.
On a different note I've carried a murse for thirty years, just not convenient for work.
Ian F (Forum Supporter) said:I've thought about getting one for biking, but I'm usually an backpack or nothing guy. If I'm riding at my local XC spot, I'll just carry a water bottle on the bike and my key and phone in the jersey pockets. If on a ride where one bottle won't be enough (bike only has room for one), then I wear a pack. Other stuff is usually in baggy shorts pockets (that I don't wear over my spandex shorts on short XC rides).
If I'm going somewhere when I need to carry more than my wallet, keys phone and pocket knife, then I have a messenger bag.
My problem is my mountain bike only has one water bottle slot and on a ride of more then an hour down here in the summer I will easily go thru that. But backpacks just make it worst cause of the heat they trap.
I typical carry small first aid kit, E36 M3 kit, phone, keys, snacks and water in hip pack and another water bottle plus bike tools on the bike.
There's a lot of these sorts of bags sold online. Problem is wanting to see them in person before buying and I don't know where I'd go that's local to check these out. I guess there's always returns (which I hate doing).
For mtn biking purposes ainhave one of the mounts in frame zipper bags. Anything to avoid the bum bag.
