Not sure how old your kids are but have you seen this? Thanks for this. We watched it for family movie night. It was fantastic. On a related note, the new veggitales is not nearly as cool as the original.Toyman01 wrote: Internal clock, "It's 5:30, get up." Me in a whiny, annoying tone, "But I don't want to, I'm off today." I am a fan of Phineas and Ferb. There is a boat for sale down here called the Fishinator. It has a terminator like fish on the side, I fight the urge to stick a Dufenschmertz sticker on it.

It was sixty degrees and sunny - the only suffering was due to my current level of nonfitness. We did 23 beautiful miles in the country without even encountering a headwind. An epicly good ride with some friends I haven't ridden with in a while. Now I just need to finish rebuilding the mountain bike's rear suspension and get the new XT disk brakes on (ooh, shiny!) so I can get back on the weekly night rides.
Spent all day Saturday installing CD players in my Mom's Mountaineer and her partner's beat down F150 as a Christmas present. Mom's partner bought the deck's and I supplied the install kits and wiring. Would have been much less tedious if I hadn't put everything together backwards the first few times. But, hey, the weather was gorgeous and I was tinkering on cars. Coulda been so much worse.
This morning I finally got around to watching the latest episode of Roadkill, alongside a breakfast of leftover lasagna. I was definitely not disappointed.
My daughter and I have started at the beginning of the series of roadkill. She's five and loves it. We're already up to episode 20.
I managed to drive about 350 miles today and not hit anything. Once I left the house drove about the same mileage and hit 4 squirrels and a bird.
In several million miles of driving, I've only hit one deer. It did $6400 in damage to a brand new E350. Took out the grill, hood, headlights, evap coil, radiator, PS cooler, trans cooler, and drivers fender.
My son, on the other hand, has managed to hit 5 of them. I've told him several times there are cheaper ways to kill a deer, but he doesn't seem to listen.
I ran over a squirrel on the way to my sister-in-law's house on Christmas morning. I felt bad about it, but not as bad as I felt about having to go to my sister-in-law's house.
My neighborhood has a great abundance of treerats. A couple of years ago one ran out into the street in front of the house. An elderly lady who lives down the street was driving her ginormous Caddy & stopped to avoid hitting the squirrel. She laid on the horn for at least a minute until the squirrel yielded the right of way. You had to be there to appreciate it, but it was funny as hell at the time.
Damn treerat tried to kill me once. Cops were not amused by me trying to file a 50b along with my workmans comp claim.
Fell down a flight of stairs when one of the little bastards put an acorn under my crutches.

A deer ran into the side of my car once and to this day (this was 15 years ago) my dad doesn't believe me.
If you think hitting a deer is expensive try missing one. Aside from the damage to my mom's car I broke 7 ribs.

That is drilled into my childrens heads from day one.
If you swerve to miss wildlife/dog/cat and crash my car, I'll string you up as soon as you get out of the hospital. Brakes only, no swerving allowed. If you crash my car into wildlife, I'll give you the benifit of the doubt.
Unless it's a moose, cow, very large hog, elephant or person. Those you better try to miss.
The one I hit was dead center. I never left my lane. Swerving in a full size van is almost always a bad idea.
and keep in mind that ins. won't pay if you're in a ditch after swerving to miss a deer … at least according to my buddy .. a retired claims adjuster …. his advice… brakes …and prayer

That same thing happened to my brother while he was driving a very nice '79 Trans Am. By the time he realized what had happened and pulled a E36 M3ty to go back and club said deer it had already fled the scene of the crime, to laugh about it with it's shiny happy person deer friends, no doubt.
In reply to Woody:
I think it depends if it had collision on it or not. Comp will cover hitting the deer, not the tree next to it.
I must admit - I waver between slowing down for treerats versus sometimes aiming for them. The puddy-tats; I try to stop if I can, look in the mirror first and no swerving.
