Anybody here watched this show?  We discovered it on Amazon FreeVee.

It's a core group of folks at a shop in England, plus some visiting specialists, who restore... well, anything, really.

People bring in family treasures and old things that have great sentimental value.  Stuff like old clocks, paintings, furniture, tools, clothes, musical instruments, toys, stained glass, you name it, that are damaged or nonfunctional.

The team of conservators refurbish and repair the item. Usually the emphasis is on a sympathetic, functional repair rather than a like-new full restoration.

It's interesting to watch and some of the reconditioning work is amazing.

I watch a lot of it. Background noise kinda thing. I like it

Most stories have the same formula. Receive item, whinge about how much work it is going to be and whether it is even possible,  get to work, basic processes played up to be far more complex than they really are, return to teary eyed owner.

It is still better than anything on American TV wink

The missus and I were commenting a few days ago how funny we thought it would be if at the end the owner was like "this sucks" and walk out the door while chucking whatever it was over their shoulder.

Yep, great show for low-key unwinding before bed after more tense/dramatic stuff. Some of the craftspeople/conservators have crazy good chops. I think we've seen pretty much all of the episodes that are available on US streamers.
