BOSTON (CBS) – A woman on a motorized scooter fell down an escalator on the MBTA last week.

On Friday, the woman was attempting to ride her scooter up a Red Line escalator, but flipped over a couple times and fell down.

Surveillance cameras showed other passengers and MBTA workers rushing to her aid.

She managed to walk away from the incident.

The MBTA is installing more surveillance cameras throughout the system to help passengers and alert them to accidents like this one.

Officials hope that adding more cameras will also help cut down on crime.

I'm betting her obituary wouldn't be nearly as good as Val Patterson's from the other thread.

It's hard to make stooopid sound exciting.

The scooter trials riders don't get the coverage the open road racers do...

The part about her walking away after the incident from riding the "handicap" scooter is funny.
Yeah, Darwin candidate.

Just because I tend to advocate for the benefit of the doubt, it could be she has trouble walking or walking for any distance, but can walk. Thus, the scooter.

In general, people who can't walk at all tend to use wheelchairs, no?

As far as taking it on the escalator, I don't have much doubt from which to benefit on that one...

Which is why Wally world is usually one story. Too many fatties who can't walk and more than likely stupid enough to try the same thing.

Couls watch that as a jpeg on a constant loop all day

It's always someone else's fault. Well, someone else that has deep pockets.

I'm going to venture to guess MBTA will be thought to have deep pockets. It's only taxpayer money after all.

In reply to Curmudgeon:

People read our logo backwards. I get to met with legal in two weeks for my fourth lawsuit in 14 years, this time I wasn't even a driver anymore I just responded to an incident.
