ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (970 WFLA) - Authorities say the attempted arson occurred at the Banana Boat Bar at 3510 North U.S.19.

The unknown man tried to get away on a bike, but one of the bar's customers managed to tackle him and hold him down until police arrived.

The suspect is now charged with arson. The charges could be elevated as there were people inside the building.

It's unclear why he tried to torch the bar. There was only minor damage

My ex's family own that place. I would bet $1.00 that was one of the family was involved.
