why is it that when a semi famous man decides that "he" is a "she", he/she is hailed as a hero and role model for everyone that doesn't feel like they belong in the body that they were born in, but when a white woman decides that she feels more like a black woman than the white woman that she was born as- and actually gets herself into a position to do good for the people that she relates to- she is mocked and ridiculed for being a phony that took advantage of the system to get ahead..
i can't be the only person that sees the hypocrisy in this, can i?
Do you genuinely want to know? Or are you just trolling for flounder?
I think it all depends on how many times we will tolerate new threads on the same subject.

If it's the latter, may I offer this?
In all seriousness, as part of a multi racial family, I have some insight on this topic, but I won't discuss it here for the likelihood of things being taken out of context, but frizsch is on the PC/SFW version of the right track.
I'm able to understand the gender issue.
I'm not able to understand the white girl who is trying to be black because I'm pretty sure that nothing bad has ever happened to because she's white.
I'm sure she's never been called the n-word or been discriminated against so by putting on blackface and trying to play the part, it seems more like she's making a joke of all the discrimination black people have faced.
I'm having a hard time putting this into words but what she is doing seems more like attention whoring than actually believing that she is part of another race.
Kinda like porn vs art. It's hard to describe the difference but you know it when you see it.
Serious answer: It's because there is some biological reason that a man might be born feeling that he should be a woman or vice-versa. There's no biological reason for a person to be born feeling that they are of another ethnicity any more than they should feel that they're a cartoon anthropomorphic animal or a dishwasher. At least not that we know of. So at the very least, there's a difference there that might explain the different reactions.
I feel I am a cartoon anthropomorphic animal trapped in a man's body.

Serious answer, she has a history of using race to her advantage. I think it would probably have been a non-issue if that hadn't been the case.
What if you're a Native American who identifies as Indian (the kind from India)?
See, it sounds just as foolish.
Not that I agree or disagree with either, but she hid it (and as was stated, used it to her advantage deceivingly), and he didn't.
I'm a Pilipino Lesbian Penguin trapped in a middle aged white man's body. GPS what sort of cartoon animal, cartoon elephants or anything with a pooch is hot.
Not even at the end of page one and we're talking fursonas
Is this kind of thing limited to white people?
Are there black people who want to be Asian?
Try being a guy and doing something like this, it would probably only be a matter of minutes until you get your ass kicked.

Hiding or being forward about it shouldn't factor into being trans. The goal of most trans people is to pass as well as possible. They generally don't come out that they were once a different gender than they present as. It's not deceptive, it's who they are. Most don't usually come out to the world.
Please keep in mind, we have at least one member on this board who is MtoF trans. I have multiple friends who are trans (both MtoF and FtoM). This person has been a valuable, contributing member of the community, although I don't believe she has posted for a while.

Most people forget that the Giant Purple Snorklewacker lives in the closet.
An actual closet.

Nobody said the he hid it, or that the fact that he didn't was right or wrong. I said that she hid the fact that she was faking being black, and in a professional position where it mattered. That's the difference. That's why she is getting in trouble for it and he didn't. You completely misunderstood what I said.
