The wife and kids couldn't stand it anymore so...

He's a 12 year old Pomeranian from the local rescue. Calm, cool and collected.

I'm glad it's a pooch. I didn't want to have to think less of you for naming your cars (or a cat)

Either that's a small child or a really large Pomeranian.

I had a mutt from the pound who looked nearly the same. In short he was a 20lb Pomeranian mix. The best thing we ever did was start having him shaved down. It started as a springtime thing to shave him before the shedding. Over the 13 year we had him we moved to keeping him short haired most of the year. In reality, he got two cuts per year. He liked it as well. Even at the age of 13, the short hair kept him looking like a puppy.

He's getting a hair cut today. Poor guy is burning up, even in the house.

The child is 9, not big, but not small either. The dog is probably 15 pounds, but he's got 4 inches of fur all the way around. My wife kept saying he was fat, nope, just fluffy.

We would go so short with the cut that the hair on his head was the longest on his body. It would look funny for a couple of weeks but then it all pretty much evens out. When cut he seemed to run faster since he was smooth and aerodynamic.
