I recall picking up the link to the original thread on one of the Fiero forums someplace, right after they'd finished the car but before Shipman died. Awesome story, tragic ending for the kid. Anyway, they held the first of hopefully many shows in his honor and for the car he loved.

I remember this story but did not know he had passed. I'm gad to see that he hasn't been forgot about. These are the stories that make me glad to be a car guy.

I didn't get a chance to go to the show this year, but I do know a few people involved in the project. It's amazing what they pulled off.

Car people are essentially good people. It all boils down to that.
Horrible that the kid died a painful death, but awesome that he got to see a dream come true and died knowing that there are good people out there.
I'd forgotten about this story. Certainly bittersweet.
On top of just being a fantastic story, this makes me want a Fiero again. Car people are awesome.
