Last year my wife submitted her story to the National Stroke Association. Today the called to speak with her and she is one of eight people being considered to be on the radio for an upcoming awareness campaign.

Its really good to make people aware. It has been a pretty big discussion in the world of epilepsy. Gotta start somewhere to get people interested and allow them to learn.
She has made an incredible recovery so far. We have been lucky that with the problems she had prior to the stroke we already had a good bunch of doctors, and working in a rehab hospital there were plenty of therapists to offer guidance. She is working had to continue to improve and adjust and she will probably never by 100% but most days you'd never know there was a problem.
She was really excited to get this call. So many people have helped us that she loves to be able to share what we've learned with others. There are still a lot of people who assume that this only happens to old people, and from the people we have spoken to at her support group many don't know where to turn for help recovering and finding treatments for many of the after effects.
In reply to TRoglodyte: I am going to the Rolex this year. She thought it would be too much for her so she is dumping me at the track .and then meeting some friends at the beach
