We talk about music a lot here, but seems like we haven't discussed Thin Lizzy enough.
I... have mixed feelings about Thin LIzzy.
Even I'm not sure why. They should grab me, but they don't, really.
Huh. Was gonna post something snarky, but decided to watch the video. I always thought "The boys are back in town" was one of the most overplayed, unimaginative songs on rock radio.
What can I say? I liked the song in the vid. I never knew the band had Irish origins, never knew the lead singer was the primary songwriter, was the bass player, was bi-racial.
I still can't stand "The boys are back in town" though.
Thin Lizzy berking RULES. They were one of the best to do the Twin Guitar Attack melody thing, if not THE best. They have so many "hidden gems" in their catalog. It's not all about The Boys Are Back In Town and Whiskey In The Jar, either! Here's some of my favorite tracks:
And a Bob Seger cover!
They were extremely influential to heavy music, and Rock music in general. For example, listen to Emerald. Might as well be an early Iron Maiden track!
I love singing bassists. Thin Lizzie rules. Also, maybe second best rock n roll band name after Quiet Riot

Dude... aren't you forgetting about Interstellar Sledgehammer?

Whiskey in the Jar was a traditional Irish folk song.
Thanks for this. You beat me to it. I usually drag out this gem every St. Patrick's Day. Interesting version of a classic Irish drinking song. What the hell do the lyrics mean?
musha ring dumma do damma da
whack for the daddy 'ol
whack for the daddy 'ol
there's whiskey in the jar
In reply to Gary :
As an Italian with zero Irish heritage, my yearly St. Patrick's Day celebration involves cranking Thin Lizzy's rendition of Whiskey In The Jar followed by more Thin Lizzy.
