Taking a weekend vacation to... Nashville? What is there to do besides the Lane Museum and Country-type music? SWMBO and I will be in town Friday night through Sunday afternoon.

What a conincidence, I was just there!
Are you a guitar player? Go to Gruhn Guitars. Start a conversation with anyone working there. Proceed to waste 3 hours talking about guitars, and playing guitars. If you are serious into guitars, I'll tell you more, otherwise this isn't worth it.
Like good food? Hattie B's Fried Chicken. Or Puckett's.
Good music? Go to Robert's Western World, for the Don Kelley Band. They will be playing both Friday and Saturday from 6:30 to 10:00. Their guitar player is off the wall. Just phenominal. And their bass player is a real entertainer. Cannot recommend enough. They play old country--Bob Wills to Johnny Cash to Lester Flatts to Allman Brothers.
Things that we wanted to do but couldn't: Country Music Hall of Fame, Johnny Cash HOF, Oprey, Ryman.
Drop by Andy's place. Old Hickory knew how to party.
Something interesting but not car-related is Cheekwood Botanical Gardens and Museum. The Cheek family owned the Maxwell Coffee brand in the twenties, sold it for $40M, and built a mansion in the country few miles southwest of downtown Nashville and called it Cheekwood. Now it's an art museum surrounded with botanical gardens and walking trails.
Also, the Opryland Hotel complex is interesting. Take a stroll through as long as you're going to be in Nashville. It's pretty spectacular. It's more than just a hotel. It's like an indoor city.
