How is he? Was he able to make it through life without everyone around him having to be nut-free? I'm not being a prick (can't convey facial expressions, sincerity, or anything in text very well) but really want to know. It sounds like your brother is one of those with a REAL problem with nuts. How old is he? Did his school ban nut products?
All I hear in your posts is reasons to be pissed off at the school, since you kids can't get the way you want them to get. The school is managing their risks, especially now that lawsuits are more common, so it's easier to deal with an outright ban on nut products while a student is sensitive to it than it is to deal with the alternative. Feed your kids PB at home and deal with it, for God's sake. It's not that bad. You asked for examples of people who have a severe sensitivity to peanuts, I am related to such a person- so there's your example. done.

Ok but seriously How does he live if the SMELL of penuts would kill him? I'm literally seriously interested in that. Walking around state fairs, grocery stores, going to any aisian restaurant how does he avoid it at all times? I probably smell penut buter at least 7 or 8 times a week and that doesn't include when I'm eating it, that's just random penut exposures.

I worked with a guy that was pretty allergic to Shelfish. He basically had to avoid eating anywhere that sold fish as laten shellfish juice on cooking utensils was enough to make him have some swelling. If he actually Ate shellfish it's hospital time. Smells didn't bother him and if he got skin contact he would just get a rash but still it was surprising the amount of stuff he had to avoid.

In five years, I predict that marijuana will be legal, and possession of the rogue peanuts will land you in jail according to federal sentencing guidelines.

Let's hope you are half right. I'd hate to be high as berkeley and get busted for the munchies.

There'd be a whole black-market Reece's Cup trade.
