So then what, the police who are responsible for this walk due to qualified immunity? They're probably on administrative leave right now still getting paid.
I see this thread staying open for a few more hours and I'm sorry if someone gets mad but this country's situation with police is messed up.

This is America, where we conclude we know everything based off of a headline. Fought police, tazed twice, continued to assault police. That's the only information we have right now. Unless you have some video proving that didnt happen, this isn't a story.

Even E36 M3heads can be sent to prison for crimes they did not commit. Or, let me correct that, especially E36 M3heads. The conviction is still wrongful. There's a reason Justice is always shown wearing a blindfold over her face.
Another hot take: Our prison system is broken and is more likely to breed violent criminals than to reform them.
And now the justice system, not us, should decide the fate of this guy.

If someone was wrongly incarcerated they at some point get a very sizable settlement. If you don't think that, that's right, try explaining a 16-year gap in your work history when interviewing...
If you don't think that every single officer within a jurisdiction knows who those people are, well, again, I wouldn't expect you to because you never had a badge, but I can assure you that they most certainly do. There are some officers, who feel that such settlements take money out of their pockets that it takes money from the department that would be used to fund equipment for them to "do their job".

He should get a settlement, but I don't see anything in the story that said he lived in the county where this happened. I never had a badge, but I find it hard to believe a cop in a completely different county or state knows jack E36 M3 about who this person was. You're making alot of conclusions based off of nothing, which exactly was my point in the first comment.

Again, we're going to let the justice decide here, not us. No matter how much anyone thinks they understand about what happened, or why.
I'm going to close this for that reason, and also because I have to travel today and several other staffers are OOO so we won't be around to put it back on the rails when it inevitably goes off.
