Methinks an unforseen number of people on the board have been caught wearing driving shoes on a Monday.

Not me! I also appreciate the humor though. Maybe if I owned a M3 I would be less enthusiastic. Then again, I appreciated Andy Kaufman before it was cool.

(I wore racing shoes and brought my own head sock to the taste of lexus performance driving event)

I am from Covington, GA and I don't even OWN shoes. The whole mental pic I get of the guy reminds me of young service members who wear their ID tags on the outsides of their shirts; like we couldn't tell by the MCRD San Diego shirt, web belt, tight blue jeans, horseshoe haircut, combat boots, and HOORAH tattoo that you are in the Marines.
Funny story though. I can just see the pretentious ass standing there.................

I'm sure this was meant to be the sort of chuckle that real racers have when they hear a bonafide cone packer champ is selling sunglasses at the mall by day but... it kinda missed.

See, the insult above is obvious... not catty or smug at all - he was just doing it wrong like he learned it from cheerleaders :)

More like Zaino and elitism.

Hey, laugh if you want, but I thought it was pretty cool that Lexus brought out a bunch of IS-F's for just anyone to beat on.

It definitely changed my view of the brand.

slefain, sorry to take the wind from your sails. I was kidding more or less in my above post. Hence my sarcastic posting about how I'm better than elitists. It's funny because that statement implies I am an elistist as well! See! Joke! HA HA! Laugh when I say that son!

This story reminds me of being around the local med school (MCV). Here you have 20 year old's who are YEARS away from being Dr's. Yet, there they are. Eating lunch at McD's in their white lab coats. I'm not saying they haven't earned the right to dress the part. They're paying the bill and learning. It's still pretty funny.

Actually he is just as likely to insult you to your face. He means it jokingly but he delivers it so deadpan that most people are offended. And the mall job is just for something to do between driving gigs. Usually he is traveling the country driving other people's cars by invitation.

Man you guys would have hated our lunchtime fun at work. Heyward had a bracket sheet made up with everyone's name on it at work (from the owner on down). Each week was a question and we had to work the bracket down to an eventual winner. Questions such as "who would you keep alive the longest after a nuclear holocaust" or "who would you least prefer to room with at SEMA" or "most likely to have grandkids before age 30". The best part was arguing against yourself and why you shouldn't move on to the next bracket. Highly offensive usually, but funny as hell.

I've probably worn them many Mondays. They're Pilotis that look like sneakers though, not the Sparco elf shoes

You guys run some SLOW autocrosses. I think I hit 70 or 75 at our last one, guy in a 'vette probably topped 80.

Hey I'd do the same thing. It'd be like saying no-thanks to a tidal wave of ladies otherwise.

The funny part is that those future doctor's are eating their lunches at McDonalds, the pinnacle of healthy eateries.
