Damn. First they complained because the tank was in the back, but you move it and they impound the car. Just can't win. 
Was the gas tank even strapped down at all, or just resting on top of the tire?
I've seen a lot worse. Hell, I've driven worse.

I don't see the problem, he even went through the trouble of using a gas tank, it's not like he had a five gallon pail or a couple Miracle Whip jars.
Good god, it took me a couple of passes through those photos to realize that the oddly-textured material on the floor boards was actually the asphalt under the car.

Ive done that. I used the washer motor and a jerry can to get home after the fuel pump crapped out on a logging road.
