Great car guy movie: Check
Amazing atmosphere: Check
Affordable: Check
On September 21st The Redford Theater Linkey McStinkey is showing Bullit. Here's the scoop:
The Redford Theater has been around for almost 100 years and was extensively renovated by volunteers and now only shows family-friendly movies and is 100% non-profit. They have secured, guarded parking (it's in Detroit), and the refreshments are actually affordable. I'm going fo' sho'.
I'm going to keep this thread updated for anyone interested because I wonder if there's a mistake in the schedule. Normally they have a show on Friday evening, Saturday afternoon, and Saturday evening. Three shows a week, that's it. Just about every show is $5.00. This one though, is saying it's on Sunday (I've never seen that in my 40 years going there) and that it's free.
So anyway, I'd love to see a group of folks go there to support a great theater that is family friendly, non-profit, and has overcome obstacles for 86 years. I've got groups like this together for car, and non-car things a number of times before. The manager of the theater said they can feel the difference when an extra dozen or so people show up. There have been a few GRMers that have gone, I think it was Italian Job?
Check out the calendar, they have some other cool shows coming up.
