Boy do I understand this - I'm selling my 911 for no other reason than I just can't love the red. I figured it would grow on me or I'd find a way to mute it but... its freakin' HEY LOOK AT ME red. Now I know why there are so many brown 911s.
Our 911 is red too. I've learned to deal with it. I've slowed down. There's nothing that grabs the constables attention like a bright red 911.
yes there is.. a Bright red Ferrari

Focus SVT?
My first thought too. Mine in black with blacked out windows gets just about zero attention, knock on wood. The great thing about the SVT is that it its aesthetic modifications are pretty subtle, and the wheels aren't flashy, especially in brake-dust gray.
Pigeon called it.
Heh, I love the board. The replies are excellent.
Yeah, Cops are the issue. I drive the southern state to the belt, to JFK every day. Its a friggn' feeding ground.
Theres a bright red car 12 miles from my house... But there is a black EAP one in Newark. Ugh. Hate to trudge into that hole just for a color... but Im gonna do it tommorrow morning. No offense to any NJ guys....
I haven't driven one, but I imagine the seats make up the extra effort for the EAP. I don't know how necessary the traction control is, either, but I suppose it may help out in the snow area. Did I mention heated Recaro seats?
Don't care either way about the TC, but that its deafeatable... ought to check that. Heated seats are nice, and the fact they dont have a horrible color on em is even better. Wheels are nice lookin too.
I agree on the 17-spokes. At one point Ford Racing offered them in gold; I always thought they would look nice on a black SVT.
Aw, crap. Looking it up, appears the TC is the typical we know better then you so its still on even when you push off type. This just f'ed me up...

Then you want a white Maxima. It's what all the fast kids are driving, untill they stuff them into a divider.
When I used to commute that way to and from Brooklyn it seemed like every car that flew through traffic until it hit something was a white Maxima, usually a mid '90s one
Must be why I didnt get it, they all must be squashed. Really, don't see any maximas of that vintage around here.
Well, it IS (was?) the four-door sports car...
In case your wondering, Im not one of em, I havent gotten any tickets yet, I drive sensibly. but its only a matter of time, and as NY goes into more and more debt its only goin to get worse.
They are getting terrible up here, my wife got two tickets in the last month.

no offense taken.. newark IS a hole
I drove this for a year with the challenge stickers still on it, never had an issue with the law...
They were probably afraid of ya
To me there is a difference between "this guys a goof off" and "this guy thinks he is speed racer" I think that car falls into cat. 1. The only think that sugests otherwise it the number panels... which could be missed i think
Wait... is the metal beneath the belt line on that mirrored?

I know the feeling, too. I love my Boxster, but it too, is bright red.

Luckily Boxsters are abundant, so I'm just waiting until I find a deal on a Boxster S in a subdued color, then I'm going to sell the red one to someone who really wants the attention. Maybe they'll even put chrome wheels on it.
Got a brightly colored car and you want to fly under the radar? Roller on a can and a half of truck bed liner...Flat black is cool, is it rock and scratch proof, it will wipe clean after mowing down zombies...

I drove on LI & the 5 boroughs with a san remo red impreza for years, never had a issue.
Not my car, but good pic of the color (note that pic was from a overcast day too!):
