Holder is a racist nincompoop who very narrowly and selectively upheld some of the laws some of the time for some of the people. Glad to see him go, but too bad he is not going to a cell.

In this instance, as they went around the laws they're supposed to uphold/enforce, they need to be held accountable.
And based on my experiences with extended family who worked in the federal government for 40 years, I am fairly certain that many of these things (F&F, surveillance, etc.) didn't start at the top. Most of these probably started as an idea from some mid-level bureaucrat and the top level people may not even have known about them until the E36M3 hit the fan.
In reply to Hal:
That is always true, but its still the responsibility of the department head. The way Holder acted in oversight committee meetings suggested he was directly involved.
Flounder.
Flounder.
Guns don't kill people, people do.... Unless it is a F&F gun in Mexico. Lock up yer kids, lock up yer husbands they killin e'rebody.

Gun control laws are in place to prevent guns from falling into the hands of criminals. So how is it NOT a crime to purposely supply guns to KNOWN criminals?
In reply to Duke:
These guns were bought by purchasers who met all the requirements at the time of purchase. These 'legal' purchasers then 'lost' the weapon or sold the weapon on the open market without a background check. Many people on this board have indicated that they too have 'lost' a weapon or multiple weapons. Some shops are more 'lenient or amenable' to this activity.
My biggest concern is that it appears that these particular guns were able to target and fire themselves. These special guns evidently required no human intervention in the sale, transport and firing of said weapon. I am completely in favor of removing these particular weapons from circulation as these guns purchased without a valid background check appear to be more dangerous than guns purchased through a legitimate process.
Hmm.....

actually, most of the weapons involved in the Fast and Furious operation were sold to people that the FBI knew were linked with the cartels and had criminal histories.. but they approved the background checks anyways to get them into the hands of the bad guys... in a lot of cases, the owners of the stores that sold them knew it wasn't exactly kosher and were shocked when they got the go-ahead from the FBI to sell them..
also, the cartels knew this was going on, and made it a point to specifically buy the types of weapons that our government was selling just so they could use them to make the USA look bad later.. they openly brag about how easy it is to get military grade weapons from the US government and show them off in facebook posts and what not. they are being propped up by the US government not only via relatively easy access to weapons, but also by the utterly stupid and totally useless "war on drugs" that has been enriching them for over 30 years now. add in that he refuses to do his job and secure the border or prosecute illegal aliens that commit horrible crimes here, and Eric Holder is the best single friend that the cartels have ever had in the USA..
Don't worry.. Holder is not going anywhere Ted Cruz has always indicated he will block any appointee the President makes.
This is the BS that is ruining our country. Neither side wants to work with the other. It's the old "my way or the highway" thing again

Cruz is one of a hundred so it will take a lot more than just him. Also, don't forget that the Dem's have invoked the nuclear option.
It's sad that you don't shower Reid with the same regard as Cruz. Too many people are either ignorant of or approving of the legislative mess the Majority Leader has made in the Senate.
In reply to oldsaw:
Both sides have just been ramming E36 M3 down each others throats when they have control for awhile now.....like the last 20-30 years awhile. So it comes to no surprise that we have this mess and massive political divide.

Not sure what you're saying here, but the "legal" purchasers that mattm cites were only legal because the FBI / ATF relaxed the standards of their background checks.
