...rocks.
Okay, so I may have been wearing a lined jacket, hat, gloves, and windproof pants but it was a bright sunny day, all the roads were dry and clear, and I didn't even get a little bit of hypothermia on the hour-long boot-around I just took. Temps were probably 4° in town where I started, maybe 2° out by the lake. But that sun felt soooo nice.
Now I remember why I bought a car that lets water in, oil out, and has no heat. Looks like winter hibernation is over. (Note to Floridians: shut up. No one asked you.)
Just watch out for the damage that dried-up road salt can do if left on the car. Highly reccommend a good washing of the underside.
That said, when I moved the Spitfire to its winter storage garage, it was 21 degrees. Dressed as you did, and yeah, it was a blast. It stays in storage until April, and after a good rain storm has washed the salt away.

53* N latitude is the middle of Hudson Bay, Oslo Norway, north of Berlin. Where are you?

Berlin (well, Potsdam...)
Actually we haven't had any snow down for weeks, and they don't use much salt even when there is. (Usually grit.) Roads were totally clean... I wasn't the only Brit roadster out today either. I also saw an MGB (top up, fail) and a Spitfire (top down, driver waved!, win.) Take the first real nice, sunny weekend of the year and they all come out of the garages I guess.
We Spitfire drivers ALWAYS drive top down and wave.! I even had a woman in a resored 2-stroke Saab initiate a wave. However there is a local shmuck with MGB who never waves, top is always down.....
Based on my Protege, I'd say Ct., had tripled the use of road salt in the last couple of years--exponential rust explosion on the suspension.

First autocross last year, I went to the gas station/burger king, filled up, turned the car (91 BMW 318ic) on full heat and went to eat a BK breakfast. Came out ten minutes later, put the top down, windows up, and drove the hour-ish in 31* temps. It was glorious.

Shut UP - I used lock de-icer to get into mine last night.
26 deg this morning in Tallahassee, South Georgia.
When you have "cabin fever" a good ride will wash the "cabin funk" off.
We had guys in the past that ice raced with the top down.
I've been tempted to drop the top on lately. The weather is getting nice enough. Might just do it on my way home tomorrow morning.
I cracked the windows while driving around yesterday for the first time in a few months. I guess I need to man up and yank the t-tops out for a run.
when I had my fiat on the road.. I drove all winter with the top down (summer too) and even know, my 318ti and my 900 both have sunroofs that are rarely closed.. yes, even in below freezing weather.. and I HATE the cold
34F here in West Michigan today... I might get the Bandit out today

Had the Miata out today, top-down. 38F and overcast in CT. Moving the car from a snowbank to a friend's nice heated garage (finally!). The summer tires, Konis, and track pads did not like the cold weather... But it felt great to be top-down again!
Ah I tried to go top down on my home from work. Made it 8 miles on the highway before I had to put the top back up. Brrrrrrr
I went indoor karting (top down) on Saturday and still froze my nads off.
Saw someone on a sportbike yesterday in Michigan. Sure it was sunny and in the high 30's, but still too cold for me,
While in college, I survived an entire New England winter with a clapped-out MGB that had no top - just an old canvas tarp to keep snow out of the cockpit while parked.
Rain was just an inconvenience and snow was actually quite nifty, as the airflow carried it over your head. Sleet hurts.
Yesterday I started my dormant Miata that had set outside for 4 months of wisconsin winter and had about 2' of snow on top of it. It fired up in about 5 seconds, so I cleared off the snow, put the top down and drove around a bit. It was nice.

I was gonna trek out to the parking garage and take the Miata out for a spin with the top down. And then I remembered, I have a hardtop. Dang.
Still gonna go take the Miata out for a spin, probably will go get the oil changed.

Meh, left for work this "morning" and it was raining. Top stayed up.
It's still overcast and it's usually already dark when I leave the office, so chance of fun today = 0%.

I, too, got the Miata out yesterday for the first time since Christmas. Top down in 35F sunny weather feels downright warm after the temps lately.
Amazing what a sensory overload that is after driving the E34 and Passat all winter. So much noise, vibration and awesomeness.

Even though it was 80 yesterday, when coming out of the restaurant at dusk last night it was much much cooler. And I didn't have my Green Bay Packers windbreaker with me for the ride home in the golf cart! And this is the clincher - no plastic side enclosure!!! Brrrrrrrr.
