So I left Alberta at 9:30am Monday morning.
Got to Winnipeg in short order, life was good.
Got to Kenora, stopped for diesel and a pitstop
I don't know if it is hilarious or not, but Kenora is a city of QUITE a few people for it's location, and is a huge outdoors/boating community (it's next to a gorgeous lake). Not a single trailer repair facility in town, even though I drove by what amounted to thousands of trailers for boats
I spent close to 6 hours at the end of the day running around trying to fix the trailer, and then finally dropping it at a place that would have it done on my return trip (axle be fubared, and because trailer manufacturers are r-tards who for some stupid reason can't use standardized axle mounting positions, new axles have to be fabbed). Luckily, the uhaul in town had the ONLY car hauler within 400kms. Rented that E36 M3 and loaded 'er up.
Proceeded to head to Thunder Bay. Spoiler Alert: Diesel is very rare in Thunder Bay, and even though it is a town of 100,000 people on the TransCanada highway, there are no 24 hour trucks stops/gas stations along the highway. I spent an hour calling until I found a 24 hour husky (WITH diesel remember) that was downtown. Nobody felt the need to inform me of this when I left on the trip (I didn't think I'd have to ask if there was diesel somewhere, this is Canada afterall).
Got into Kapuskasing at 7:30am in the morning Alberta time (was going on 24 hours with no sleep). If you've ever driven the TransCanada in northern Ontario... wow. Stuff nightmares are made of at night for driving! Got 3 hours of sleep (too much caffeine), left for Montreal. Accidently drank a can of redbull instead of a pop about 2 hours out of Montreal after already having had a 5 hour energy drink a couple hours ago. Driving through Montreal from the West to the East was like playing a videogame I was so jazzed, construction everywhere, narrow lanes pulling a trailer, and the duramax always seemed to want to go faster
I got in at 1:00am Alberta time. Slept for ~6 hours. And here I am getting ready to make the final 7 hour trek to New Richmond. Looking forward to a real meal tonight!
