I was a little late to the scene, the guy in white had already pulled the driver of the truck out of the truck and water and up onto the bank. Others were there to get them safe until resue showed up, so I didn't have any involvement when others had it under control. Amazingly the driver of the truck was not hurt. The driver is in the background of one of the photos with the white blanket drapped over his shoulders.

Water was cold even here for NC, and was brackish water where the tides bring enough salt water to get that low country smell.
There was an accident here in Minneapolis this morning, a car went into a pond next to a freeway interchange - five young kids in the car were underwater for anywhere from 25 to 45 minutes.
They're still alive but no reports yet from the hospital on their condition.
that's the classis "I'm awake!"

Damnit. I was gonna say SC. How selfish am I that my first thought was "I miss Edisto." (???)

That area looks really familiar. Is that right outside of Wilmington headed towards Southport and Oak Island? Sucks for the truck.

Near Wilmington, Pine Grove Road, Bradley Creek
if it were german we could use the classic line from Risky Business.. "who's the U-boat commander?"
